Third reminds me of a statue that NYC wS going to build of the photograph of three white firefighters that raised the flag after 9/11. They were going to change it to one white, one black and one Hispanic. After the controversy ensued they just build a bronze one.

Well, I have been involved in education for a very long time, and IQ plays a major role in success. Having served on selection committees for very competitive programs, I have some experience in evaluating successful students. I realize there are exceptions to every rule, but anecdotal evidence does not stand the test of the trend. Work ethic is also almost as important, but the combination is the most important of all.

Well, there is an equestrian statue of Joan of Arc (not a white guy) in New York City, done by a woman sculptor, Anna Vaughn Hyatt (later Mrs. Archer Huntington), unveiled in 1915. Mrs. Huntington and her husband were staunch anti-Communists and she was an early supporter of Barry Goldwater for President, according to a recent article in ANS Magazine.

Reminds me of the dust-up when the ‘oh so thin-skinned ones’ wanted the statue of the three firemen raising the American flag (9/11) to include black and brown firemen EVEN though it was ONLY white firemen involved. I was pleasantly surprised at the time they didn't demand a black handicapped Haitian in a wheel chair be included.

That said, maybe Baltimore could do a statue of the black kid jumping on the police car while Baltimore burned... At least it really happened.
