The Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest is the premier event in competitive eating and this is a landmark year. The 100th edition of the event will take place, as always, on July 4 and the spotlight will be on the biggest rivalry in the history of competitive eating.

Not only is Stonie the top-ranked competitive eater in MLE, he’s also the youngest. At just 130 pounds, he currently holds 18 competitive eating records. In 2015, he notably consumed 241 Hooters chicken wings in 10 minutes, and a few months later he ate 25 Big Macs in 22 minutes.

Sudo improved on her 2014 mark of 24 dogs in last year’s contest when she devoured 38. Thomas won the event the three previous years with a top mark of 45 in 2012. Sudo is currently the top-ranked woman in the world, while Thomas is second.

I will be eating 2, maybe even 3, Nathan’s Franks on the Fourth. I get them at the grocery store. They’re the best tasting franks I’ve ever had.
I wish there was a Nathan’s Famous here in KC, I really miss their fries too.
When I lived in NY, we were just north of the Nathan’s Famous on Central Ave in Yonkers.
