She was not the first, she replaced the first actress in the series. But she was a very sweet lady I met her a few years ago.

When I think of Lois Lane it is her face that comes to mind.

Also there has never been a Jimmy Olsen who could even touch the one in the same series. In fact all the others seem particularly lame.

She was really swell, but she never was very good at connecting the dots with who Clark Kent really was.

She was great. I too had a crush on her as a boy, and it drove me crazy that she could never figure out that Clark Kent was Superman.

Neill was also one of the five regulars in a low-budget film series usually dubbed “The Teen-Agers” series, produced by Monogram between 1946 and 1948. Rather rarely seen, I have managed to watch a few of them.

She used to attend a lot of nostalgia/comic-type shows over the past few decades. Although I’m not much of an autograph hound, I went ahead and got a signed photo from her on one of those occasions. It was a color still not from the “Superman” tv-series, but rather the initial 1948 serial, where she first portrayed Lois Lane, opposite Kirk Alyn (who also used to attend a lot of shows in his later years).

Pretty lady, It's funny that I had not watched the series in years since I was kid so, when I did recently see it again on MeTV I came to realize what a naggy irritating character Lois Lane really was.
No wonder Superman kept his distance!
And Jimmy Olson really was a wimpy homerseximal... in real life too.

She returned several times to appear in Superman films — playing Lois Lane’s mother in the 1978 Christopher Reeve “Superman,”

Actually, she had a cameo as a passenger on a train looking out as teenager Clark Kent outran the train.

Wow.
