There is a thread currently running here at Free Republic asking posters to fly the U.S. Flag upside-down as a sign that the Nation is in distress. Disagreement with the proposal abounds, so I have an alternate suggestion: why not fly the 'An Appeal to Heaven' flag from the days of the American Revolution. Flying it would be stepping away from the historical significance of this flag, but I believe the message is appropriate. We need the decent people of this country to make 'An Appeal to Heaven', because that is the ONLY way we put an end to this mess. NO politician will help.
This is a great outfit, bought my first Gadsden flag there in 2009, they have the “Appeal to Heaven flags and t-shirts, etc.

They’ve held up pretty well in Michigan. Prices are pretty good too.
Why a pine tree was chosen, I don’t know (was this before the widespread usage of the Christmas tree?), but it’s an excellent idea.

I cased my colors today. And they’ll stay cased until I feel differently. It’s a small stupid, pointless gesture, I know; but the neighbors have already noticed. Good.

I wondered that myself. I thought perhaps a pine tree was chosen over a cross icon in order to appeal to the ‘non-denominational’ demographic. Nothing wrong with that, as it still gets the message out.
I appreciate the thought; but I will fly the Flag of our once great County upside down ~ never have I been more disgusted with our ‘government’ than I was today ~ I prayed to Almighty God to help save us.
But why would he save us? Why SHOULD He?
