Back when I was young and vain I worried about my hair..
Now that I am the advanced age of 34 - which you remember is because I am five years older than my baby sister who is 29 - I kind of just let it go until the conjunction of the following events occurs.
1) I am in proximity to a Super Cuts (or Cutting Crew, or similar business.)
2) I actually think about stopping in to such establishment before I pass it by.
3) I’m not engaged in a pressing emergency fulfillment of something on the honey dew list. (EVERYTHING on the honey dew list is a pressing emergency..)
and
4) I get tired of it taking longer to rinse the shampoo out of my hair than it does to bathe the rest on my body..
It should be noted that reason number 4 is now activated since my last shearing was back in June. Next time I have need to visit WallyWorld, I just might stop at the Super Cuts in the adjacent strip mall..
Besides, they offer a senior discount (even though I’m only 34) and Cutting Crew doesn’t.. ;-)
Be careful about getting a haircut: people might think you’re upset about Donald Trump’s election!

I go to Great Clips. They have experienced stylists/barbers, whereas, Super Cuts hires them straight out of beauty college. Not saying that’s bad, but for my hair, that’s bad, as it is very fine and an inexperienced stylist/barber can end up botching the cut so badly that it takes more than a week of growth to make it a good hair cut.
Plus, Great Clips also give senior discounts, which is always a bonus for those of us over 34. ;o]
Super Cuts is actually within walking distance, and they also give discounts, but my experiences with them have not been good. So I hop into Mr Bill and head up the hill to Great Clips.
And if I’m having a good day, I can think of the phrase, “it needs to be layered, like a long shag,” and actually get it cut that way. And when she is done, she is surprised at the result. *e-vil laughter*
If it’s not a good day for me, it takes me longer to explain it than it does for it to be cut.
I go to Ilya over by the gym. I get a consistent cut and it’s still reasonably affordable even here in Gotham.
I used to go to a Cost Cutters when I was out of town but there’s just too much hit-or-miss at those places.
