A Michigan woman lost her middle finger to a caged lion after trying to pet the wild cat at a zoo last Saturday — now she might claw for some cash.
Renae Ferguson says she learned the hard way that getting close to the ferocious carnivore isn't the brightest idea, but insists she's not to blame.
The woman plans to sue Sunrise Side Nature Trail and Exotic Park near East Tawas in Mid-Michigan for alleged negligence, reported WNEM.
"I would like to see more precautions taken to protect the people as well as the animals," Ferguson told the local station.

Not difficult to picture that dumb scene.
If the goal of her lawsuit was to force the zoo to make changes to that area of the lion enclosure to prevent future idiotic acts by patrons, that’d be fine.
Going after the zoo’s money for damage based on her own moronic behavior? That’s not fine.
Definitely the animals need to be protected from her. The lion could have gotten food poisonibg. Who knows where her fingers have been. I wonder if she washed her hands before feeding the lion.
I am pretty sure that the last time I saw her/him she/he was paddling a canoe in an anti-litter commercial. Now if that was a picture of Elizabeth Warren I might believe that he/she was actually one of my brothers/sisters. But I personally feel that this would have been a much better story if she gave Trump the finger and he bit it off... But the MSM would probably have made a big deal over it and there might be some negative repercussions.

The zoo owners say Ferguson should have paid attention to the warning signs and bite signs that are posted throughout the park, and listened to the employee who compelled her not the touch the lion.
Okay, let me see if I understand this: The lion is in a cage. There are warning signs posted all around. A zoo employee told the woman not to touch the lion. Despite this, she is suing the zoo because she believes "they need to take more precautions to protect the people and animals."

I was going to ask if they were sure that is a woman.
Yeah, she should sue Disney for the ongoing anthropromorphization of these poor critters in movies that teach kiddies that the big ol’ bear and the Lion King can talk and they are your friends - NOT!
That zoo is in the middle of nowhere (I used to live up there), but does get its share of tourists in the summer. I hope the judge throws this case out with due haste.
