I noticed his absence (also on his ping list) but have no idea how to check on him.

Always enjoyed SunkenCiv’s threads for a nice change of pace. Politics all the time gets boring.

The GGG threads are what keep me coming back to FR when I’m burned out on politics.

It seems like everything they dig up is considered to be of “High Quality”. This makes no sense to me.

Don’t particularly miss sinkspur, though he was always good for an argument on Texas politics.
A pity. I saw signs of that in Sunken Civ more than a year ago so it doesn’t come as complete surprise. He made some unnecessary offhand comment that had a good deal of social justice warrior in it.
I would point out how so much anthropology today served to diminish western civ at its core
And he would exalt Afro culture like the Benin bight as relative or comparable

I didn't say he was a neverTrumper....In fact, I don't think he was.
He and Jim have some differences related to how he was 'running' GGG, I believe.
