I strongly agree.
I knew not every Arab is Moslem, didn’t realize it was such a small percentage. An old friend of mine’s maternal grandparents came over from Saudi Arabia, yet he was brought up Roman Catholic and he had an aunt and uncle who were Jewish.
I have two previous work acquaintances:
One a Syrian welder back in the 90’s - best damn welder I’ve ever seen. Ran his own shop.Beautiful wife.
Two a Turkish fellow who services and repairs semiconductor equipment. Nice home in Texas.
They seem to have assimilated before it became fashionable not to.
When I think “muslim”, I think “dhimmicrat” or monster barbarian.
Islam has adherents in many cultures, but is an Arab-centric, Arab-superior world view.
There are historical reasons why “abed”, the Arabic word for slave, is also the word for “black.”
Do the go to a Mosque or read the Koran?
I always ask liberals what race is Muslim. Or even better. What race is Mexican?
Liberals will insist that since most of the world’s Muslims are third world people of color, that therefore it is “racist” to criticize Islam for that fact alone.
Meh.
To my knowlege, no, though one does avoid pork.
Never saw either grovel to the east 5Xaday either.
A secular Muslim gets religion as randomly as a secular Christian has a mature born again experience. It’s pretty common and many times completely unexpected.
The differences are found in the behavior encouraged by their respective holy books and religious communities.
My introduction to the word ‘muslim’, or more rightly mohammedan, was when i was in Thailand. There has been a ‘separatist’ movement abuzz in the Thai peninsula before i arrived in 1971. But it came very close to my skin, when they bombed a cafe i had just left, in Bangkok, in 1972.
