If you thought trips to the airport were tough enough, now it seems flyers have been forced to drag their bags along the side of the road just to get in and out of LaGuardia.
Was it a case of poor planning by the Port Authority? And will things gets worse as construction clogs the airport?
As CBS2s Lou Young reported, building the new airport at the old airport was bound to cause problems, but no one was expecting this kind of trouble.

Chatting with one pilot in a crew room calls La Guardia “La Garbage” - there are also epic names for various airports as well.
My father took airline flights into and out of LaGuardia in the 1960’s.
Even back then, a pilot came on the intercom and, while talking to the passengers, he called La Guardia “La Garbage.”
I wonder if we will reach a point where governments subsidize telecommuting with tax advantages, etc.
Nyc is turning into a 3rd world...
Maybe people can take the subway to the airport.
Oh wait. It doesn’t go there.
Getting to La Guardia is a horror show! And, if The Mets are playing...forget about it.
Fortunately I never had to fly to La Garbage. Newark was the closest I ever had to come to NYC.
If companies wish they can do so without subsidies.
I switched to using Newark. Much less of a hassle.
I was just there.
It’s basically one lane looping around the airport.
If anyone is familiar, the traffic is backed up from Ditmars where the Hertz/Avis car rentals are.
