Target is launching a first-of-its-kind one-day sale to try and boost back-to-school shopper traffic amid a boycott over its bathroom policy. The retailer is offering a 10% discount on everything in its stores and online on Sunday. Target is calling the event #TargetRunDay.
It marks the first time Target has ever offered a 10% discount both in stores and on its website. The sale comes after Target last week reported its first quarterly traffic decline in more than two years.
This is what happens when you blindly hop on the social-justice bandwagon without consulting your customers, understanding their mores, or giving a damn about what they think. .....
Target's same-store transactions, which is how traffic is measured, fell 2.2% in the second quarter. Overall, sales fell 7.2% to $16.2 billion. "In the second quarter, our No. 1 challenge was traffic, which affected sales in all of our merchandise categories," Target CEO Brian Cornell said last week on a call with analysts.
Shopper traffic is falling amid a boycott over Target's new policy, announced earlier this year, that welcomes customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity. The announcement triggered an immediate backlash. Critics said the policy opened the door for sexual predators to victimize women and children inside the retailer's bathrooms, and more than 1.4 million people signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target unless it reversed the policy.

As it turns out, 7.2% is the measure of people insisting on morality while the 92.8% of our society are akin to the population of some ancient cities of Biblical infamy.

Maybe with a public apology, a million-dollar contribution to the Trump campaign, and the ritual disemboweling of the idiot who authored this policy, I could be persuaded to buy a 6-pack of gym socks.

The people who go to my local target don’t read the newspapers and don’t watch the news on tv. They know nothing about the policy until some man in a wig shows up in the next stall.

No doubt the gimmick one day sale timed with Back-to-School shopping will lift the traffic decline and probably boost the overall sales. So CEO Cornell can talk to the analysts and during his board meetings with some positive spin.
The thing he may or may not realize is that those (remaining) shoppers will grow smart and wait for yet more deeper discount before their next big purchases. So the company will go down the ‘just another discount store’ route that routinely offer 50%, 60% sales that nobody really believe they’re actually saving 50% or 60%......
10% ain’t all that much in comparison to the sick, twisted sh!t they pulled. It’s beyond the pale, or is it pail in this case?

My favorite is when Cracker Barrel pulled Duck Dynasty merchandise after one of them made a non-controversial statement about gays. It took Cracker Barrel about two days to find out their customers were not only not gay, but big fans of the show. Talk about not knowing your customers.

For what its worth,Wal-Mart sales went up for the same quarter that Targays went down.

I won’t touch a newspaper and don’t have TV, but I have this here internet with huge capacity to keep me informed. It’s the responsibility of citizens to be informed, and not being informed, or allowing one’s self to be misinformed is a classic case of irresponsible behavior, which is immoral, even if Broom Hillary can get away with it.

Is the theory that a Transgender Person would use the Single Stall Restroom rather than the Public Restroom or that a Normal Person would use it so they won’t run into a Transgender?
The Transgender won’t use it. They will be offended and cry segregation or they just won’t like not getting the attention by creating a scene.
I think this one really effects more people where they live, both geographically and in their heads.
