Trump's doctor is not the only one out there still using Windows XP. Lots of places still use it. Single most ridiculous hanger on to XP was the NSA, which, as one can see in http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/videos/welcome-to-the-nsa/, was using XP after Microsoft declared it end of life.
and check out the phone on his desk. It’s practically from the dial phone era. I used one just like it in the 1970’s! Where’s the outrage??
“Deadspins Tim Burke spotted something weirder: Dr. Bornstein is using Windows XP.”
Ok, I’ll bite: How can you tell, and can one actually find the original “research” via googling for “Tim Burke” + “deadspin” + “Bornstein” (answer to second question is no).
I use Windows XP Professional; it’s stable and works fine almost all the time. Oh by the way, I get updates. I assume they are from MS.
meh
Could be....wacky doctor...... Perk protons and speculation.
Hillary is not well. Her appearance shows that
Trump is going full speed all the time
Gizmodo is/was part of Gawker media.
The doc’s PC with XP is vastly more secure than Clinton’s e-mail server.
The author of this article and the editor should be fired for publishing such a pathetic piece of garbage.
XP Enterprise is HIPAA compliant. XP Enterprise is used on numerous medical instruments and medical data systems, and is still supported by Microsoft upgrades.
I would take this guy as my doctor any day of the week over the incompetent foreign morons I’ve had to deal with lately. My first time at a VA hospital I got four of them, One out of the four demonstrated common sense. I’ll have to say the nursing staff and technicians were top notch. That’s why I’ve lived as long as I have, staying away from medical misadventure morons.
I suspect that he is running Windows XP for a reason.
1. Most doctors are not that tech savvy, though they think they know everything, and perhaps he is happy with XP and has had no problems.
2. Perhaps by continuing on XP, he doesn't have to comply with certain sections that allow the bureaucrats to dictate, a la 0bamcare statutes, the treatment and (most of all) the reporting requirements; or
3. He showed the idiot media some old PC that was sitting around in case they got a little to nosy.
But, but, but....I thought Mr. Trump was anti-Semetic ??????

WindowsXP is still a good operating system. Maybe the good doctor does not have the XP machine connected to the internet so that security is a non-issue.
Are the dims really that dim?
I don’t see any correlation. If a government can allow the storage of sensitive information at all levels to be stored on a “private server” in the basement of Hilary’s home, then what’s the big deal? I don’t think Trump’s last prostrate exam results mean a lot to national security. Besides, he can use any system he and his group want. There is no system set up and protected by anything required by HIPAA other than a strong anti-virus system. And as long as a system is in place, HIPAA doesn’t care. And Hilary’s computer was talking to everyone.

That’s his desktop computer. That’s not the computer most doctors use for clinical information. What an assumption.
So...how does Matt Novak know what characters in 1970s porno flicks looked like?
Nothing wrong with XP. I used it for years. Upgraded recently to Win 7 and will be here forever. No Win 10 for me. Waay too invasive.
XP is a great OS. If MSFT had a different business plan, one that did not depend on regularly released “new” versions of the OS, XP could still be going strong.
My kids pediatrician was the best doctor I’ve ever encountered, and she was not what you would have called a typical doctor.
Lame.
