Is Cultural Enrichment Coming to Japan?
Gates of Vienna ^ | 28 Aug, 2016 | Baron Bodissey

Japan has long been held up as a role model for those who oppose mass immigration into Western countries. The Japanese have managed to create and maintain a prosperous high-tech economy without importing millions of culture-enrichers. Like the West, the Japanese face a catastrophic demographic decline, but they have not responded to the aging of their population by inviting in a horde of illiterate young third-worlders.

Not yet, anyway.

The people who control your financial future and mine — the central bankers of Japan, Europe, and the United States — met last week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The banksters are deeply concerned by the failure of their current policies to maintain the global financial system in the smoothly-functioning state they prefer. Zero interest rates and massive “quantitative easing” have not restored the growth-generating conditions of the 1990s. So the world’s financial leaders are pooling their brain power in an effort to find a solution. Formerly fringe ideas such as negative interest rates — which effectively means the abolition of cash — are now on the table.

One of the proposed solutions for global fiscal anemia is that Japan should change its immigration policies and allow in significantly more migrants. It worked so well for Germany and Britain — why shouldn’t the Japanese jump on the bandwagon?

My college frat mate teaches English at a gakuen’ or high school there in a prefecture. Japan is the only place where they have signs saying NO FOREIGNERS ALLOWED in kanji. I even bet him that’s not possible but i saw it for myself when i visited there years ago. They do have the right idea..

I think the answer is NO.

Already NO in 2014: http://tinyurl.com/z22cbgo

Still NO in 2015: http://tinyurl.com/hr9lozn

And because of this it will stay HELL NO for some time: http://tinyurl.com/hts5oth

He teaches at Yokohama. Then during the summer he heads to the American school. But I only saw those signs close to Nagano. Didn’t understand a damn symbol but his GF confirmed it too. I have a Snapchat with my face beside it LOL

During my 15 years in Japan, this was the pattern. Japan would accept a tiny handful out of scores of refugees assigned by the United Nations. Almost all of the handful accepted had special qualities such as a PhD in a needed skillset and/or long marriage to a Japanese National.

The rest would get a sincere regret that there was insufficient material in their profile to indicate they would be a happy or functioning member of Japanese Society.

So they were essentially being turned away for their own good.

I think the overcrowding is mostly in the cities. I have read about rural Japanese towns that are depopulated ghost towns.

That being said, they’d have to be fools to think that large scale immigration (especially Muslim immigration) was the answer to the problems.

I keep hearing this cliche "catastrophic." WHY is that so? All nations' populations have risen and fallen throughout history due to war, peace, disease, changes in climate, economics, culture etc...

ONLY because Europe, Japan, and the USA (as well as China) are financialized, statist, quasi (or outright) socialist countries, and have MASSIVE DEBT, do politicians and elites push the idea that population decline must be a disaster. Its only a disaster for them.

the Japanese, more than anyone, value the survival of their culture above all. They will work out their debt issues in a Japanese way, and will still be around as an independent nation and culture long after the West has destroyed our own.

why is low birth rate ‘catastrophic’ ?

Its only catastrophic because of massive debt - so its really a problem for bankers and their socialist, statist partners in government who can't let their system collapse. Tell them to go to hell.

They really cleaned up Shibuya and Shinkuku - yeah, about eight or so years ago, I’d say - but Roppongi is still a disgusting mess of losers with only one about two good places worth visiting - Two Dogs pizza and craft brew, and Train Bar.

Japan knows how much they are respected for not importing millions of losers, and making sure the immigrants are here professionally.

It can be pretty difficult to live here, so everyone here are people that want to be here, like myself.

Oh yeah, there are lots of (mostly seedy sex and crime related) clubs that won’t allow foreigners. It’s never bothered me because I don’t frequent those places, and if DID want to, there are also plenty that are open to everyone.

Japan might be willing take in a couple million more Filipina “hostesses”, but as for foreign laborers - forget it. :)

I don’t think that would help.

Last I read the young Japanese male was as likely to prefer sex with a doll to a girl.

The young Japanese is not getting married or having children hence the demographic problem

Its curious that Japanese love their pachinko, while most pachinko parlors are Korean-owned.

I keep hearing this cliche "catastrophic." WHY is that so?

Because Mark Steyn said so. Until this thread, that has been the FR mantra. Arguments to the contrary useless.
