What a game! Looks like the Horns are back.
The rules for college are a little different:
Once a ball carrier is down on the ground, he is down.
Clock stops to move the first down chains.
Overtime Is different.
College games tend to be shorter time.
In all actuality, college games are more enthusiastic. Some of the bigger college stadiums are larger than pros.
REALLY?!?!!
I’ve worked with people not from NYC who were YUGE college football fans an told me the players are superstars in their town.
Fascinating, as Spock would say :)
I shall have to watch one soon.
Houston’s biggest problem is their weak conference.
They need to avoid playing down to the level of their competition and pile up points on all of them.
Then the big twelve will be there for them.
Surreal is correct. The stadium went from screaming to hushed in a heartbeat. That tied the ballgame.
He’s a freshman but can marshall ten big guys down the field which is where great OBs are determine Ned and they have the black QB who thinks he’s a fullback....or even a receiver....he was wide open on that trick play....too bad poorly thrown
Anyhow
Good job Texas
College ball is better......actually nothing beats middle or high school if you have a kid playing.
Under the lights autumn.....it’s loads of fun but you spend all summer except two weeks ferrying for practice with they euphemistically call conditioning to escape regs
I was proud of Texas but what did we really learn today
That Alabama are truly awesome even without Robert Newhouse-John Riggins-Eric Dickerson part deux.....Henry
Good god they crushed SoCal
Now tomorrow nite will the Rebs my alma mater prevail against the Noles
IT does sound pretty darn fun!
I played a few years in high school and the two a day workouts in the 90 degree heat, Good Lord, it was brutal :)
Now I couldnt survive just WATCHING the workouts in the 90 degree heat! :)
The “Red River Shootout” (Texas-OU) will decide Charlie’s fate.
“Best game of the weekend.”
Sure was. Appears the Tea Sippers have rediscovered smash mouth football. Darrell Royal is happy...

Looks like both teams are in need of defensive tune-ups.
It might work that way — TCU looked that they were going to have trouble and who knows what Baylor actually is, post-Brilles. Watch out for OK State though. They are usually sneaky good and I can’t help but feel that one of these years, that team could breakthrough to “great” for at least one year.
I get to see next weekend how my Aztecs actually are when they play Cal. And considering the full ride scholarship TCU is giving my daughter for her to get an MA, I am kind of becoming a horny toad fan, too.
When Father Jenkins gave Obama an honorary JD and had 73 people who were merely on their knees praying the Rosary on the grounds of the UNIVERSITY OF OUR LADY arrested he brought a curse onto the formally Catholic school in South Bend and it will NEVER win another national championship in anything again. Three of the arrested prayers were priests. Jenkins refused to drop the trespass charges and one priest died with that over his head. That school supports abortion gay marriage and attacks on Catholic doctrine. I loved watch them lose. I only check in on their games to see if they are losing and stay if they are. The 2 overtimes was a knife in their black heart that they deserve.
A textbook example of targeting, which knocked the best ND receiver out of the game and cost the Irish 7 points. The Big 12 replay officials had no guts to review the play.
that said, Brian vVan Gorder should've been fired after the Standpford game last year. This is on Kelly.
Hell of a game.
Notre Dame is my favorite college football team, but Texas is in my top five favorite teams. So, the way I see it is if two of my favorite teams play their hearts out, and give everything they have, and it’s a knock-down, drag-out slugfest, with neither team embarrassed, then it’s a win all around.
This was a win all around.
Yep, Cougs beat OU at Reliant Stadium, Houston.
Trevor and Connor Knight’s (OU) dad hurriedly went from Houston to College Station...and made it in time...to watch Trevor’s first game as an Ag.
LOL...hubby (an Aggie) NEVER roots for Nortre Dame OR Texas to win. He was ALL FOR Texas, last night.
Ever notice how ANY play made by ND has such glorious descriptions, by the announcers? As though NO team in history has ever made such an amazing play...as the ND player just did.
They trip over their tongues looking for superlatives for the ND players. After last night’s Texas win....the announcers actually had to cough up a few words of praise, for the Texas players.
In what way do you consider the SEC to be NFL quality football? The best SEC teams would be defeated by the worst NFL team by at least 3 or 4 touchdowns.
