In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
Paean (pee-uh n)
Noun
2. A hymn of invocation or thanksgiving to Apollo or some other ancient Greek deity.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Why thank you! You should hear what I wrote about Kerry when he was running!
(to the tune of Modern Major General, and another to the tune of “When I was a lad”)
I don’t know if I can find them, but I will look around.
A++ for piggybacking on xs!
A++++ They don’t just ignore us, they hate us.
Huh! A++
good!
I put it out on Twitter twice......spreading the word.
Of course. Da-da-da-DA-dada!
Bravo! :-)
The compromised driveby media
Sings a paean each and every day
Hillary’s staff hold their leashes
Choosing each word they can say
No matter how much they spin it
Talk of Hillary as royal is hollow-
Instead of being in the WH again
She should find a place to wallow
She believes that it is her turn
That delusion is perfectly fine-
But voters are aware the drivebys
Are putting lipstick on a swine...
LMAO.....you are always good with your poems. A++++
so, no appointment for a doctor to take over my diabetes and I am out of meds at the pharmacy. Need more by morning. We shall see. I feel defeated by the very docs who are supposed to be helping.
Thank you!
What is the deal-they didn’t get you an appointment yet? I’d be pissed, too-how are you supposed to get your glucose, diet, etc in a good, healthy place if you don’t have the tools and assistance to do it? You are far more polite and patient than I am-I’d probably be demanding the assistance that insurance-and you-are paying for, but I have an awful temper...
A real paean to paganism:

Apollo must be smiling.
Crazy. A++++
With minutes to spare, they got the prescription in and I have meds.
Great! I’m sure that is a relief...
Wow. No one should be canned without due process. A++++
Some things are almost too funny-the people who rented the cabin just up the road for the weekend got a bouncy house from a party rental place, too-I saw them setting it up when I was down by the river this morning-I guess they intended to use it at a party, because there are at least 12 people there.
A couple of hours later I was filling the bird feeders on the deck and saw that the same people were backing a truck with 2 canoes on a trailer down toward the riverbank-someone yelled no, no-use your goddamn brakes on a f’ing slope! Then there was a bump, a loud whooshing sound and the bouncy house collapsed flat on the ground-and people started yelling at each other.
From where I was, it looked like the driver of the pickup truck didn’t use his brakes on the slope-and slid backwards, hitting the bouncey house with the edge of the trailer and tore a hole in it-I couldn’t help laughing-I doubt that the party rental place will be pleased with what happened...
That is outrageous-I hope he sues bigtime...
