When they're your neighbors, you have to use cognitive camoflauge.
Besides, that's nothing - they'll ask you what method was used to take the alcohol out of the wine, and whether the veggies were harvested with any metallic tools. This is California.
“Mexicans are a very handy people! The legally-here ones are as down to earth as anyone you’d want to know. Total can-do attitude about things. And they go to church on Sunday. “

Nice to hear.
By the way,I have never even KNOWN anyone who had a pig to smoke. Aaahh-—the diversity of the U.S.A. :-)

The first one I saw was in college, laying in a bathtub. Quite a shock - my friends thought it was fun not to tell me about it first. Looked like a dead body.
But after a night in a luau pit, it sure tasted fine!

I’ll bet it did-—I did the luau tourist thing in Hawaii and do remember the pork.
As an aside-—when I first saw your post I thought YOU were laying in a bathtub-—then I read it again.:-)

Shot placement on hogs is different than deer. A shot behind the ear doesn't drop them. Mature boar have a thick layer of hardened gristle over their ribs between the skin and muscle. A heavy crossbow might penetrate it, but an ordinary compound hunting bow won't unless it draws 80 - 100 lbs.
You nailed it. But you forgot the part about getting contributions for the eco-friendly hog resort and spa. These piggy paradises don’t run for free.
Las Carnitas Shelter for wayward hogs.
Solution?
Cable snare......
Oh well, back to the shotgun and slugs. Glad all I have to deal with is racoons, skunks and possums. Although I don't shoot them, I shoo them away with a stick, except for the skunks who I leave alone. I'm not about to mess with boars.
I made a vow long ago never to get into a bathtub naked with a dead hog.
So far, so good. :-)
“do you know the way to San Jose”
Anybody there ever hear of a .22 and pork chops???
It’s so bad in GA the DNR is letting you hunt them at night, using lights(12 volt), and over bait.
