Plenty accurate enough for inside the jewelry store, or nearby. The accuracy issues only come to play at long range, say 200 yards and up.

AKs were meant for street fighting (see the Battle of Berlin) or to be fired from inside an APC rolling across the Fulda Gap. They have a short length of pull and the gas block is right in the middle of the barrel, sometimes inducing some harmonics that make accurate rapid fire challenging at 200 meters and beyond.
That said, The AK has proven to be quite adaptable and is an excellent means of discouraging multiple attackers - especially as in this case, at across the counter ranges.
