As someone who realizes the police have a tough job and am willing to cut them a break in many circumstances, this isn’t one of them. So what if he was on drugs, mentally ill people act in similar ways. He was unarmed and posed no immediate threat that required that officer to shoot him. It could have easily been handled better. That some are trying to justify this particular shooting boggles my mind.
The cop said he was just wandering around inna stupor. She had had training to spot it.
Four officers on the scene. Four officers saw what was going on. One officer felt that the situation justified killing the man. Were the other three careless?
A drugged out felon with a gun not listening to police orders to stand down - that’s far different that being subjected to police harassment for doing nothing.
