The Nobel Prize committee has given up trying to reach Bob Dylan, five days after he became the first musician awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Giving the Nobel Prize to Hussein 0bama knocked the status down quite a bit, but I'd be willing to accept it - and the accompanying check - for Bob.
I’m still scratching my head over this one. What could the committee have been thinking?
As the great philosopher Bob Dylan said...
” But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
Indeed
you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody”
Approve or not, this will be the last Nobel Literature prize awarded to someone grounded in Western Civilization.
Obama had a Bob Dylan concert at the White Hut. At the end of the concert, Bob Dylan just left, he didn’t shake obama’s hand. What makes this funnier, is that on Pawn Stars they had some Bob Dylan picture, and they assigned Chumley to get it signed. He actually got it signed.
Dylan is an exception in that most literature winners could use the money.
He’s playing Texas - El Paso tonight and Lubbock tomorrow. Buy a ticket and grab him after the show.
I’m not sure he is the greatest songwriter America has produced but I agree with your observation: “His ear for the American language unsurpassed.”
This really is his strength, or one of them.
I saw him at Desert Trip almost two weeks ago, you couldn’t understand a word he sang but his band was great.
I hope he is tangled up in blue.
Blow the award off...
He’s just being exactly the reason why he was given the award — an ephemeral, enigmatic butterfly of diagonally strained ontological musings.
If this is the best that Western Civilization can do, they maybe we don't have anyone worthy.
Dylan is quite talented but it’s not in literature. The prize is a joke. Not as bad a joke as obama’s “peace “ prize, especially since O ‘s murdered or enabled the slaughter and torture of hundreds of thousands of people. But still a joke.
I think it’s great!
As long as he doesn’t leave the prize money on the table. It’s around a million dollars.
This prize is not a reflection on Dylan, as he probably didn't seek it, but it opens up the idea that lyrics are poetry, and I don't think they should be considered to be equal.

He is one of a kind, true to the end.
I’m going to see him in concert next week. I’ll give him the message.
Leftist songs? Such as?
