Trump ally Newt Gingrich says his big worry about President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration is that they'll "lose their nerve" and faced with flak from the left, "give in."
In an interview with ABC News' "This Week," the former Speaker of the House said the new Trump administration will have to take positions the "left will hate."

The MSM,the Teachers Unions, the Democrats, the Greens and numerous other factions threw everything but the kitchen sink at PE Trump, during the whole election process. And Guess what? Trump persevered and Won. I’d be surprised if his Administration buckled and acquiesced to anybody now?
MAGA!
I think the idea is that Trump losing his friends due to his becoming POTUS might make him lose his will to keep going
Somehow I don’t think that the Trump Administration is going to turn out to be Tea Party 2.0.
Of course there is alway that chance, but I don’t have reason to think that right now and Newt’s timing sucks.
I think not. If that were the case he would have given up long before now. No Trump loves being a winner, and a new set of friends may be exactly what he wants anyway.
DJT is no ordinary Republican. For one he isn’t a politician, nor does he need the position for personal gain. He has no reason to cave on his core campaign promises.
If you force the MSM into Byzantine analysis, while denying them access, they will implode. Screw being honest and transparent with the Left, look where it’s got us.
However, Trump is stimulated by opposition; he's intelligent enough to surround himself with wise winners; he's aware of his mandate; and I think he's as eager as the rest of us to expose and expunge the corruption. Furthermore his vision is great enough to imagine an America freed from corruption and to look forward to it.
I think his personal security is at least as great a danger. The blind hatred of the Left, which has always been a fundamental part of them, has already erupted into violence and will become more and more inflamed as truth threatens their delusions and anti-corruption reforms threaten their power, privileges, and luxuries.
He’s the same Newt many of us remember from prior spew sessions.
Please sit down and shut up Newt.
We have to be vigilant, and it’s going to be a tough fight because everyone will be against Trump, but if he knows the people are behind him, I don’t think he’ll give in.
Shut up, Newt... and go away.
What a back-stabbing concern troll he is.
Newt does another boo-boo. Getting old.
It’s tough for Trump. He won the electoral vote but the media won the popular vote, and the Senate.
He’s gotta remember his foe is the media, and it looks like he will.
“You’re the Grinchiest, baby!”
I think Newt as a valid point here. Consider what Bannon said when he stated that it would be our responsibility to keep Trump’s feet to the fire. Or when Kellyanne spoke up about the Romney debacle. Sure, we all laughed at the end and said Trump was just having fun with Romney. But consider the heartburn it gave people just meeting with him.
What if Chuck Schumer gave Trump his SCOTUS nominee in exchange for backing off the wall? Just an example (and obviously a deal breaker for us) but we elected a deal maker and there’s no limit to the types of deals that could be made.
Will Trump go through the same bruising fight that Scott Walker did to get civil service reform? All questions that will be answered in the coming months. It’s important to have a healthy skepticism.
Shut up newt????? Newt is the only GOPer who understands what Trump is up against and his observation is spot on!
Sheesh!
Newt Gingrich is trying to be relevant.
Quite simply he’s attempting to project what the inner circle is thinking to create the illusion of being on the inside.
He’s not anymore.
He was close once.
Did not get the VP slot, threw a public tantrum.
Went out with the “Trump is backing off the Drain the Swap” thing only to have to stand corrected.
Newt’s not helping anyone anymore, including himself.
