Please remind people you encounter who say that Clinton won the popular vote that this is not true. Clinton DID NOT win the majority of the vote.
The majority voted for Trump or a 3rd party candidate. She lost by 3.21 million votes overall.
51.2% of voters DID NOT VOTE FOR CLINTON. They voted for someone other than Clinton.
So she did not win the popular vote.
Winning the popular vote means getting more votes than any other candidate. Hillary won the popular vote. Most people understand the concept of the Electoral College. Let it go...no need to be defensive about the election.
I said in 2008, that the election of Barack Obama would prove to be the Democrats undoing, due to the fact that he would engender so much OPPOSITION from normal, everyday Americans.
I knew then, that he was so radical, that he would toss out the American left’s carefully managed strategy of slow incrementalism, and would tromp on the gas pedal to Utopia.
Just as I knew it would, it backfired in spectacular, historic fashion.
Agreed. But it took two terms for the sheeple to recognize the danger and still, half of them still don't get it.
Parmy, I appreciate the reply, but please use quotation marks if you’re going to re-post my words. A casual reader won’t know that you didn’t write them.
Thanks.
I’m not convinced that “winning the popular vote” means what you say. Maybe it does, I’ll look into it.
I’m also not convinced “most people’ understand the electoral college system.
In any case my concern is not about the election but about the media (and others) spreading information which is not true or which is misleading. If they say Clinton got more votes than Trump that is true. If they say she the popular vote, I think that is misleading, since a majority of people voted for someone other than Clinton.
“How do you stay angry for 4 years without yielding?”
Remember George W. and he was kind of a squishy, i mean kinder gentler, conservative.
I hadn’t thought of it that way until now.
I admire your passion.
