Emmett Till, a 14-year-old black boy from Chicago died a horrific death at the hands of two white men after buying bubble gum while visiting racially segregated Mississippi in 1955.
They beat, shot and disfigured his body beyond recognition - and walked free, acquitted at the hands of an all-white, all-male jury.
Emmett's crime was allegedly whistling at a white woman. The woman, Carolyn Bryant, has lived in relative hiding for the last five decades, haunted by her past. She has now admitted that her testimony, which carried the case, was a blatant lie.
A new book, The Blood of Emmett Till to be published next week, reveals an interview with Carolyn, who accused Emmett of grabbing and verbally abusing her, according to Vanity Fair.

Timothy Tyson, the author of The Blood of Emmett Till, spoke with Carolyn in 2007, who has since divorced and married twice more, and is a mother of two children. She is now 82 years old.
During their interview in 2007, Tyson said it was evident that the times had changed her, though not in a radical sense.
Regarding her statement that Emmett grabbed and verbally abused her, she simply said, 'that part's not true,' according to Tyson.

In my opinion, having observed a few things as a southerner myself, I’d say that there actually was a provocation, it was politically motivated and it was intentional. He’d only been there a few days. That has been the method of protestors and instigators for a very long time.
The violent and murderous reaction was wrong, however on a certain level it’s the very sort of thing that leftists have always wanted. I’d also say that on a certain level there are any number of people on the left secretly glad Emmett Till was heinously murdered because they got their martyr, they got a huge talking point and the moral high ground. It was what they had been seeking. Emmett Till was just cannon fodder.
They came down by the thousands for years to poke the bear so to speak, and in some instances got what they came looking for, lurid evidence of just how bad and wrong southern racism against black people was. And they ran with it, here we are over sixty years later and it’s still a very big deal.
They hit the social justice motherlode with Emmett Till.

I am so sick of this lie. Remember the 1968 election: Nixon, Humphrey, and Wallace? Wallace, a DEMOCRAT, ran as a third party, and carried: AR, LA, MS, AL, and GA. This split the DEMOCRAT vote and threw the win to Nixon. I grew up in Louisiana, I can tell you that the Southern racists, as you call them, stayed Democrat. Anyone that moved to the Republican party did so after accepting Blacks as equals.
Democrats never did and still don't see Black people as equal. That is why they are the party of: Slavery, Jim Crow, Welfare, (because they think Blacks can't support themselves), Birth Control and Abortion, (because they think Blacks can't control themselves), and Affirmative Action, (because they have always and will always think of Black people as lesser humans, unable to compete on a level playing field.
Republicans believe that if you truly level the field, Blacks will rise to the challenge.
I’d be a bit careful with this. Tyson did an earlier book, ‘Blood Done Call My Name”, which was lambasted by some as allegedly being more fiction than fact.
I have no ideas on this new book, as I haven’t seen it.

Because one suggests that either she hated that kid and wanted him killed, or she was afraid of her husband and he was acting jealous, so she made herself out to be a victim so he wouldn't go after her.
The other suggests she didn't want to be left raising 2 kids while her admittedly violent and frightening husband was in jail. Or he intimidated her into testifying for him. (Or she did it because she loved her husband, but given that they divorced later, that seems least likely.)

Thad Cochran was a Democrat, too,... until the mid 1960s.
The Dems all became Republicans because LBJ gave the blacks civil rights. The Blacks, who had been relatively split, all became Democrats at about the same time. It’s history. It happened.

Anyone who lies in a crime report, investigation, court or withholds evidence should receive the sentence the innocent suspect would have received if convicted or has already received.

There’s zero evidence that wife lied. It’s not suprising that Emmitt got beat for trying to rape her. What did horrify everyone was that Emmitt Tillman was beaten to death and then dumped in a river.

What I do know is that I can’t trust the Leftist media to give me the truth about any such episode. They have destroyed their credibility over and over and over and over again.
Give me an honest media and then I will start paying attention to them.
