"Don't look up to someone who spends their careers pretending to be someone they are not" The Salesman won the best foreign language film at the 2017 Oscars, and so the director Asghar Farhadi, who is Iranian, decided to attack President Donald Trump's "inhuman travel ban” during his acceptance speech which was read by a friend since he decided to “boycott” the event. Media analyst Mark Dice has the story.
The lies about the supposed Muslim Ban, the fake attacks on Trump, I mean all of these people fail to realize that they are here to entertain us, not levture us on their fake politics derived from watching way too much MSNBC and CNN.

I wonder if this guy has ever made any statements about how inhumane it is that Iran executes homosexuals simply for being gay, or uses state funds to sponsor terrorists who kill and maim innocent people.

I expect films to entertain, not try to push propaganda. Hollywood won’t be getting my money except for rare films.
Notice how Hollywood rarely ever recognizes foreigner films for best film of the year, actor/actress of the year, director, screenwriter, song....
Hollywood disses most of the country and should be ignored and wither away. More movies that lose money would be their just deserts.

I am not sure that every understood that this was just a showcase. The winner could have gotten to the Oscars, and chose not to. It was never the case that his arriving in LA for the award would be in jeopardy. But instead of coming, he preferred to grandstand and make the fake news story seem real. Like most of Hollywood there was little truth and lots of play acting in his absence.
