That second guessing dates back to LBJ.
In the summer of ‘70 we had a collision with a fishing tug off the coast down south and ripped a huge gash in the bow just north of the waterline. We limped into Vung Tau where a tender repaired the damage. It was a major big deal because no warships were supposed to dock and the security instituted was heavy. One crewman every thirty feet or so with an M-1 around the perimeter of the main deck. Spotlights from civil twilight to dawn and a concussion grenade tossed from a random location in what seemed like 30 second intervals. I don’t know how many we expended but we were there a couple of days. At the closest bar on the beach the Marines said that they heard scuttlebutt from gooks that we were a prime target and were going to be hit. No joy for them and none for the hundreds of fish and sea snakes that got concussed.

Not a dumb question. The blast from a MOAB in the vicinity of caves, bunkers, holes, etc., creates an overpressure, then a massive vacuum, that collapses the lungs of any people in the vicinity.
Yeah. One of the 5 pillars of Islam is that you have to pray to Mecca daily. If there IS no Mecca, no one can get to Heaven! If no one can get to Heaven....why bother to be Muslim?

A bomb like that directed at tunnels kills them AND buries them. I guess you could say we threw in the burial services for free.
