After MLK Blvd. it will be the most violent stretch of road in the state. Why not just name a section of MLK blvd, BHO blvd ? Either way it's the blvd to stay away from.

A joint resolution passed the General Assembly to designate about an 80-mile section of I-55 between the I-294 Tristate Expressway and mile marker 202 near Pontiac, Illinois as the Barack Obama Presidential Expressway. How ironic. The Obama freeway existing in the state that is about to declare bankruptcy.

They say that any time,anywhere in the country,you find yourself on a "Martin Luther King Boulevard" you're wise to constantly look over your shoulder.
Somehow I thing that someday the same will be true when you're on "Obama Street".

Ugh. I drive I-55 to St. Louis and back several times a year. Well, at least it’s not the whole damned thing, and I’ll be free of reminders on the far side of Pontiac. It really should stop at I-80, because that is the real boundary of Obamaland. I guess it was bound to happen, though. Illinois has expressways named for Ike, JFK, Adlai Stevenson, Ronald Reagan, and Jane Addams too.
There are a few other short stretches of I-55 that are named for fallen state troopers or politicians. There’s a section around Troy that is named for Sen. Paul Simon. The sign for it has a big bow tie on it.
