Those poor bears, forced to chase sheep! Couldn’t we just feed them environmentalists?
When I go “out in the woods”, what I see is too many hikers, birdwatchers, dog walkers, tourists, joggers, and other unnatural fauna. I see reintroduction of large predators as a way to limit and cull these invasive organisms.
I wonder if the sheep were possessed by demons?

Go onto the American and Canadian prairies. The aboriginals used to drive bison off cliffs (”buffalo jumps”) to do a mass slaughter as part of their food gathering.
And practicing sustainable bison.... /sarc

I see it as a story of a pricks in government who don’t have to worry where their next meal comes from—like these farmers. If they need money, they merely raise taxes. And if you don’t pay up, you get SWAT-teamed.
If it impacted these government tyrants ability to prosper or feed themselves, they’d never introduce bears anywhere. But since it doesn’t impact them, screw the people.

I’m all for reintroducing wolves and rattlesnakes into Manhattan and Washington, DC. Thousands of them.
