Asking if any USAA members are interested in a campaign to overturn some bad decisions management has made recently. More below.

Sorry for the vanity.

I’m not running from this fight. I’m tired of having to leave places and things that I once enjoyed. Please at least keep one account so that if the ship can be turned you can come back!

I don’t honestly think it will take much to accomplish. End the ads across the board. Stop the focus on growth and instead focus on service. But we’ll need everyone’s help!

They definitely need changes. I tried to go to their office and sit down with someone last year about a car insurance issue, and found out that isn’t possible -— building is employees only!!! No way to have a one on one conversation now. I’m in, too.

Got word from an unnamed Freeper that he was surveyed by USAA last night on this issue.

They are listening, and USAA is one of the best run companies in the US. If they have a ‘share’ clause written into their ad contracts, then they can likely pull as a matter of contract. MSFT just did that last week.

A ‘share’ clause is a clause that allows you to pull the add, or get a penalty fee, if the producer doesn’t meet a minimum share of viewers in that slot.

If they don’t, pulling the ad may have penalties associated with it.

Was wondering what company would be a good one. I also want to get an umbrella policy. Great credit and no debt.....that’s me!

Thanks for the tip and link.

My experience and impression virtually mirrors yours. There has been a more rapid decrease in quality over the past decade as they have tried to expand their customer base.

OK I think I have everyone that explicitly asked on this list. If anyone else is interested please let me know. If anyone has governance or other experience the you think can help let me know.

Currently we are waiting for a reply from the head office on the required format for the request so we can dot the i’s and cross the t’s. I’ll start asking on the forums as well. Will keep you posted. Please keep up the notes on the USAA forum. You can put my kre324@yahoo.com address on it as it’s a throw away address for me. I’m using that to lead people to my regular email.

If anyone wants that just private message me I can send you the governance docs and other message shared so far.

Regards

I am interested.
I recently investigated alternatives to usaa with an intention to dump and switch.
I found that in my area the cost savings with usaa are extreme. So yeah I’m angry and want reform but no I can’t afford to switch

Sent them an email on Monday voicing my displeasure that USAA is associated with the NFL. I got a call back that I wasn’t able to answer at the time. They left a Voice Mail:

“This is ___ with USAA and the Department of the CEO’s Office. I am giving you a call in regard to the email you sent yesterday regarding the NFL and our sponsorship. Just want to let you know that we have received the email, we are compiling this information to then forward to the appropriate levels to be reviewed. At this point, we are still currently sponsoring the military appreciation of the NFL. No decisions have been made at this point to change that, however, we are gathering member feedback to present to the board.

If you have any specific questions call 800 531 8722 Extension to the CEO is 86071.”

Thank You

Count me in.
40 plus years member....AND - my 3 adult children are all USAA members in their own right (as members of military)....and I know I can count on them supporting this also.

AND - a separate “PING” list might work best for giving interested people updates.

Working on that as I haven’t done it before. Right now I’m adding folks as they ask to a word doc and then copying and pasting... I’m so non-IT :)

Bump, thanks for taking the lead on this, let’s see what transpires with enough membership pressure.
