Some pretty notorious comments on the thread.

When I was in High school (Tucson) one of my classmate got sent to the Dean of Boys, a dude named Bell. Long story short - the Dean whacked the guy plenty good.

The guy asked Bell if he was finished? When Bell said “Yes” the guy cold-cocked him. The punch was hard enough that Dean was out for some time.

Cops got called.

Cop show up, asked what happened. When it came to hear the guys side of the story, all he had to say was “He hit me first - it was self defense”

The Dean got a trip to the gray bar motel and that was the end of “Corporal Punishment” That was the end of CP for District1 - all schools.

The Dean’s name - Gale Bell - and he had the rep of being a real-deal SOB.

That sounds like an urban legend kids would tell. The tough kid takes the paddling, then all cool like James Dean asks if he’s done, then punches him out.
And the cop arrests the Dean of the school on a battery charge?

In Tucson?

Paper clipping or it didn’t happen.

You know you all showing your age when you say “Dean of boys” or “Dean of Girls” don’t you?

They did not have this when I was in school but my mom and dad spoke of this so I know how old you are.
