Terrifying 4,600ft Glass Walkway Opens In China, And Just Looking At The Pics Will Give You Vertigo

If you’re scared of heights, you’re going to find that this walkway is going to scare you just looking at the photos! You aren’t alone, though, and many people would take one look at this adventure and simply turn the other way. After all, who needs to walk around 5000 feet in the air, anyway, right?

If, however, you are taking one look at this glass option and thinking “How fast can I get there?”, you aren’t alone either. All you have to do is take a look at the photos and see that there are other adventurers that are looking to get in some excellent time in the world of heights. You have to admit that it would make some incredible pictures, there’s no question about that. Can you stomach the heights? That, it seems, is the question that everyone is asking themselves when they look about going on it.

Sheesh, what a bunch of light weights. I’d walk the rail after drinking a six-pack.

The fear of heights is actually the fear of going momentarily insane in throwing one’s selfover the precipice.

A family of four would be $260 to park, shuttle and walk the skyway?

Or take the sightseeing plane ride. It is amazing in its flight over many areas of the Grand Canyon that are not visible from the National Park south or north rim locations.

Wow.... I did the Skywalk in 2014 and I’m surprised by your story. We had a completely different experience. We took a small plane from Vegas.
Btw, I’m afraid of heights and made a fool of myself on the Skywalk. Lol!

I’m not particularly afraid of heights. I’m terrified of Chinese engineering, construction processes and building materials.

https://www.grandcanyonwest.com/skywalk—eagle-point.htm Nervous about walking on glass almost a mile above the Grand Canyon? Have no fear; the Skywalk is strong enough to bear the weight of seventy 747 passenger jets.

Imagine being one of those who constructed it. Wow.

That was the first thing that popped in my mind. How was this thing built? And there is no way I would walk on that, I almost pass out climbing an 8 foot ladder!

I honestly think I’d pass out after a few steps. I felt my stomach sink just looking at the photos.

Who does this?!?

Yep, it’s on the reservation. That’s one of the ways they make their money - filleting tourists. I own a couple of acres just off the reservation and just outside of the bounds of the park. It’s a lovely spot, IMO, but I come from a line of AZ desert rats.

I luv Soarin’ at Epcot. The whole thing is an illusion, I think. Initially your seat lurches slightly, and vibrates a bit, to give you the sensation of motion. Several times when the video shows you swooping down, your seat even drops a bit and you feel giddy. But you’re still sitting within inches of where you were when they doused the lights.

[A fear of heights is illogical.
A fear of falling on the other hand is quite logical.]

I have a fear of hitting at the end of the fall.
