MADISON, WI - A woman stole money from a stranger who offered to buy her a meal at a fast-food restaurant on Madison's east side Tuesday, police said.
Madison police said an 81-year-old Madison woman was at the KFC on East Washington Avenue at 4:15 p.m. when she met a woman, 36-year-old Stacy M. Andruss, who told her she was homeless.
According to the report, the older woman, who is a regular customer at the KFC, offered to buy a meal for Andruss. While she was getting the food, Andruss got into the victim's purse.
Police said the older woman sat with Andruss for a bit before Andruss left. When the woman was leaving, she realized her money and checkbook were missing.
KFC staff members had a feeling something was amiss and had kept an eye on Andruss, who was across the street, police said. One employee went out to confront her as police were called. The woman's cash and checkbook were returned to her and Andruss was taken to jail.
"Shows me to never be nice to people again," the victim told police.
Police said Andruss told the arresting officer that she was sorry for what she had done.
Andruss was arrested on suspicion of theft, carrying a concealed knife, possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.

Meth is possibly the one thing we’ve invented that can and will destroy someone’s soul, it turns people into sociopath. I lost a friend this way.
I’m in favor of legal weed but meth dealers should be treated about the same as murderers and kiddy diddlers.

There’s a technique to feeding street beggars and the first step is to never give them money or give them access to your money. Otherwise, they’ll take it and never spend it on food.
Always get their name (and ID if possible), lead them into the place of business and make the transaction with them present. Hand them the food and tell them you’ll pray for them and then leave and not look back.
I generally don’t give to beggars at all but if I am moved, I will do it by rules or not at all.
36 huh? Looks more like 46-50. That’s hard living. Too bad. Poor choices, but could also be bad parenting.

According to that site she was born in 1981. She looks like she’s at least 20 years older than that in the current mug shot.

Holy crap. Meth really does tear people up. She looks 55. The first mugshot photo was when she was just getting into it, I guess. It must really suck to look at yourself in the mirror after you’ve been a junkie and realize what a complete ugly wreck you’ve become. I’m glad highballs and beer don’t do that to us.

It’s amazing how peoples’ lives go so wrong at some point or another, due to lousy decisions, choices, circumstances.
