Gorilla Statue Removed After Complaints It Was Racially Insensitive
CORSICANA (CBSDFW.COM) A statue of a gorilla, and prime attraction for kids at the Community Park playground in Corsicana was removed by the city.
A spokesperson for the city said some community members found the gorilla offensive racially insensitive in some form, and requested its removal from the park.
We can understand this, because we have an obligation to listen to all our citizens, to determine what is offensive and not, especially in public places, said Corsicana Mayor Don Denbow.

They have no clue just how racist they truly are. I’m loving it!
It is the height of racism to consider a gorilla racially insensitive.
Who but a racist would consider a gorilla to be an insult to any race of man?
More proof that blacks and whites cannot peacefully coexist together.
Oprah Winfrey, while hosting her morning talk show on Baltimore asked her guest, Frank Perdue, if people said they thought that he looked a chicken. A calm and collected southern gentleman, Mr. Perdue responded “ do people say that you, Oprah, look like a gorilla”? They immediately went to a station break. Touche’!
“I see an ape and I immediately think of black people”, said the Liberal.
The wet pillow crowd never get much sleep.
not the gorilla my dreams
Did I miss something? Did another gorilla complain about this? Because this is an animal. Not a human being.
All primates must be removed from the zoos, also albino animals because of White privilege. And let us not forget, the most important of all, remove all reptiles because democrats despise looking upon their true aspect.
‘Who looks at a gorilla and thinks black people?’
I never see a gorilla and think black people. I do sometimes see rioters, or ‘brawls’ and think gorilla
The complainers apparently identify as gorillas.
.
Wait...racially insensitive to WHAT race? Human? Or is ONE subset of the human race SELF-IDENTIFYING with gorillas? So now an animal-gorillas in this case-offend black humans how? Physical resemblance or un-evolved behavior? How can blacks claim this? How can whites ASSUME this to be offensive without the assumption, itself, being offensive? The mind reels. Perhaps gorillas themselves should be eliminated if their presence, in statuary and life, offends?
I'm not concerned about the glue. It's only glue. But I am concerned about this guy:
The gorilla is offensive to some because it is "racially insensitive" IN SOME FORM?
Who are these people in the community who think a gorilla statue is racially insensitive....in some form? What the hale does that mean?
Gorillas are not a race. So exactly how is a statue of an animal racially insensitive? Did anyone think to have the complainers spell-out exactly how this is possible? Impossible to be racially insensitive except in the minds of some liberal looney toons.
As much talk about the mentally ill that there has been after this school shooting, why are we taking what the mentally ill liberals in this community think about gorilla statues as gospel?
Something seriously wrong with those who complained. Even more disconcerting is the decision by the town to remove the statue based on these insane liberal rantings.
Then I want white bread and crackers banned.

In my fantasy world, a city manager plays dumb with the (racist) complaintant.
“Racist? Which race? And what do you see as similar? Hmm, because I don’t see that. Here, find some pics of people of that race on the internet and compare them to the statue. Now point out exactly what is similar...”
And then he tells the guy he just wants to remind him that their conversation has been automatically videotaped in accordance with the local Sunshine Laws, and so it will be a simple matter to bring it to the attention of the City Council at the next meeting. Could you sign here to give your permission for that? Just a formality.
Wait a minute, what about donkey kong ? /s
A quibble: There's less brotherhood than that. It is concrete shaped like an animal.
