Every time the gun grabbers come calling, I have to go get another firearm. My new purchase.

It's a RRA AR-10 in .308. The scope is a Vortex Viper 6-24x50 PST.

I'm going out to the range this morning to bust the cherry on this one.

That would explain the difference in price.

Unfortunately no. Probably when everything became computerized. Not certain if they'd transcribe paper records but the may have.

A guess: before the 90s.

My 10 year olds have taken to shooting both my Glock 42 and Sig Saur P320SC. The can pull and release the slide fine. A few pinched fingers, most recently with our Ruger Mark III Target pistols.

Both the Glock and Sig Sauer shoot accurately--I do well with them at 50 feet; boys and I have been hitting steel at 25 meters out in the desert. The Glock is better closer, 15-21 feet. Out of the box triggers are not bad.

I'd suggest going to a gun shop and try dry firing both.

Went to a gun show yesterday. I looked everywhere for a loophole but they didn't seem to have one for sale. They did, however, have certain private-purchase items, one of which left with me.

No range time for me today, though. It's snowing.

my SCAR=17.

I'll be joining the SCAR 17s club late next week. It's been my dream rifle for years now, and I finally got into a financial position to buy one.

Tell you what, though. That thing was hard to come by - especially in black. My dealer told me that the whole US supply chain is out of stock, and they have no idea when there will be more.

it’s a scary black rifle. But the good news is, it’s an AR-10. Everyone is after the AR-15 so I figure I’m good.

I keep them up on the wall, behind a locked door when I’m not around.

Presentation is everything :)

A safe is nice, but it makes these things mighty inconvenient for me to get. I live out in the deep, deep country and even tonight I heard someone walking down the road when I was grilling.. Well, that isn’t supposed to happen but within seconds I had my firearm ready to defend against any danger.

If there is even one firearm outside of the safe, and kids are around it’s as if there is no safe at all. And I keep something near me, or nearby up and away from my daughter who also is to young to teach.

We all go through “Mind movies” when we store firearms. We think like a child. Find chairs to get to them, climb on counters or whatever. Even if it’s in your bedroom it only takes 15 seconds for them sneak up there and find them.

So I believe in keeping out of reach, but in my reach.

Can’t do automatics anymore, traded in my .380 Bersa 10 yrs ago when arthritis made it impossible to rack and take apart to clean. That is when I moved to the Taraus Ultra Lite revolver. I looked at the SW 462 hammerless revolver it’s 14 some ounces which is good as I have a weight limit now of 1 lb. I can get the trigger pull lightened to 1 lb pull. The Frozen Thumb was not all the mess up, the cast messed up the Wrist nerves, VERY LITTLE FINE MOTOR SKILLS, and I’m a year out. I do PT daily. Much of it not regular stuff, stretching, dry cupping, heat/cold packs and Tens unit which worked better than what they did in Physio. IDIOTS don’t comphrend Fibromyalgia muscles don’t respond to PT well. DR keeps telling me the Left thumb needs fixing too, NO WAY.

Shot gun is in the safe, carry piece is on the hip where it should be or was until thumb surgery now it’s joined the shot gun in the safe. We’ve had so many doc appointments it’s not safe to leave out. We may live in a small berg, but we’ve had 4 murders from home break in’s this last year. 4 more than normal. Robberies are higher too. Town is so small Kroger’s is the biggest employer. And NO it does NOT sell guns. The Gun store does though. As does the other one 15 miles away where the Navy base is. That 1 is run by retire LEO and is larger.

Had a long talk with my Gun Range instructor, a hammerless gun won’t solve my issues with the loss of fine motor skills. So I’m going to have to learn to shoot Left handed. It is my least used hand. At 69 going to be tough to relearn how to shoot with the hand that is not dominate.
