Don't stop dating other men until your boyfriend proposes, says self-styled 'Get the Ring' [tr]
UK Daily Mail ^ | March 23, 2018 | Siofra Brennan

A relationship expert who describes herself as the 'Get the Ring Coach' has revealed why women looking for marriage should refuse to date men on an exclusive basis - until they propose.

Love and Relationship Coach Sami Wunder, who is based between the UK and Germany, used the same trick herself when she first met Chris, now her husband, by refusing to stop dating other people until he popped the question.

Nine months later he did and now they have been happily married for five years and have a son, while Sami has been responsible for 95 proposals in two years of business - with one taking just three months.

I think a lot of people have this idea that until the 50’s 60’s (or whenever) people were not promiscuous and having sex. Based on what I have seen in my life and what my folks and other older acquaintances have told me

People are a lot more promiscuous today. I've lived a long time. It's definitely different. If a woman was having sex in the old days before the Pill, it was most likely with the person she ended up marrying, either because they had that understanding or because she got pregnant.

Unfortunately, no. Attractive, virtuous women under 40 are quite rare these days.

“In that example. If she cheats WITH you, she will cheat on you.”

I didn’t think of that one, but the other poster didn’t seem to consider it cheating in the first place.

Sure - not every marriage goes that way - especially to that extreme - but the % of married couples having sex at the same rate as pre-marriage is probably sub 10% at best.

It’s the large earners who insist that the woman stay home with the kids who then try to take the kids away if there is a divorce, let’s say when he gets his secretary pregnant and wants to move on. There are special divorce lawyers who only handle contested divorces from professional men who try to destroy the mother of their children pursuant to divorce. Men who can well afford the $20K. I know of women who have paid up to $80K just to keep partial custody of their only child from men like this.

1) In every case of a stay at home woman that I know of (my wife included) - and I know quite a few (I make a bit over $300k/yr which is certainly an income level that can easily do that), the woman has been the one begging to stay at home and not work rather than the husband insisting. In fact, I don't know any husband who has insisted their wife stay at home with the kids.

2) The type of person you are talking (post graduate degree, high income with kids) about are also the least likely to get divorced by a wide margin. And even in the extremely unlikely scenario they win custody of the kids, the man would still be paying alimony out the ass for at least 10 years or more (I live in a lifetime alimony state) plus give up half the assets

3) Women initiate divorce 75% of the time.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the type of women in those situations you are talking about are usually lying about a lot of things. About the only time the man can actually get custody when both parties want custody - no matter how much the man spends - is if the wife has severe depression issues, has substance abuse issues, is physically abusive, is sleeping around or more than one of those. In most states with a stay at home mom, the guy is paying for both his and her lawyer as well.

Hah - I haven’t been on the dating scene for a long time (been married 12 years) but I can assure you it has nothing to do with wrong places. Most of the “good places” have some of the dirtiest girls (eg: Church). The attractive single guys I know usually are getting sex on the first or second date no matter where they met them. And given how many times I’ve been propositions while married from the “good girls” and my experience with girls before I settled down, I know its only gotten easier since.

Well hello there equality brigade, can’t have an observation be specific to one gender now can we? What planet has any appreciable number of men who don’t want sex and will cut it off at will? Not many on this one. Plenty of women who can be described thusly, though.

Well my dad and most of the family I gleaned this knowledge from were born in the 20’s and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out i have a few hundred close relatives I don’t know about.

Similar.

What still amazes me is that women who know me, know I’ve been married for most of my life and have a family think that

A) I’d be interested

B) that if I was they may have a shot at something more

c) that if they did why would they be interested to begin with?

It was easier remaining a virgin until marriage when you were married by 15.

Fifteen was pretty young, even in those days. Most of Jane Austen's heroines were at least 18, and one was 25.

When I was dating, back in prehistoric times, I refused to become jealous. I assumed that if the woman chose another man, there was nothing I could do to stop her, and I wouldn’t waste my time trying.

It drove them nuts that I wouldn’t play that game.

Exactly the men I described: high-income men who pursue power at any price, including cutting off a wife from sex as a form of dominance, while reserving the prerogative to get some for themselves on the side.

So, dad was a horndog? Okay. I was forming my remarks based on having done graduate-level research on marriage and sexuality statistics in the U.S. from early last century until the close of the century, the era during which birth control distribution to the unmarried, abortion, cohabitation and adultery all went from illegal –> to legal –> to celebrated.

I’m not saying that doesn’t happen, but that is not even a remotely typical relationship whatsoever among those kinds of men unless the wife completely let herself go for years and is extremely passive aggressive (or openly abusive). I’d agree those types of men (high IQ type A borderline sociopathic personalities) are more likely to cheat on their spouses, but also not have sex with their wife? That is almost certainly less than 1% of relationships with top 5% earners (say men making more than $150k/yr).

Exactly what I was thinking. I have been running among the exec ranks for the last 5 years (36 years old) for corporations and meet constantly with the investment banking guys and institutional money (ie nearly all top 2% income) and I have not once ever heard of something like that going down (constantly hear the opposite - ie - wish the wife was more into sex). It’s actually very rare for divorce among those groups anyway as even among the ones where the wife isn’t into the sex, she is into spending the money and the lifestyle.
