Dartmouth library guide extols ‘Feminist Geography’

The Dartmouth College library recently published a new guide for students explaining how scholars are using feminism to contravene “masculinist” practices in geography research.

Feminist Geography refers to the “application of feminist theory and methodologies to understanding human geography,” the Dartmouth College guide explains, adding that its goal is to “investigate, reveal, challenge, and change gendered divisions in society.”

I used to hope that I was doing enough educating my children so they could attend Ivy League schools.

Now I pray that they don’t.

Feminist geography shows how to get to the: (1) mall, (2) hairdresser, and (3) wine store.

human geography.....investigate, reveal, challenge, and change gendered divisions in society.

That's not geography, or even feminism. It's deviant sociological activism.

I’ve devoted much of my life to studying female geography. Exploring hills and valleys; deep ravines in tangled jungles.

Feminist types don’t think that’s funny at all. When a student teacher told me she had majored in “women’s studies”, I told her that most guys at my college had studied women intently. She shot me a hate glare and that ended our little talk.

The goal of feminist geography is to identify a land mass where butts aren’t fat.

Already they have destroyed true science anywhere they went. Is that why they talk all the time about STEM and girls who code?

Probably more because the programming-like practice of web design can be accomplished in a non-rigorous, engineering-free way. If you get an error message, just re-load the page. No bridges collapse, nobody dies, and the designer still gets a gold star and a participation trophy. :)
