Growing up, pretty much the flag only was at half-staff when a former President died.
Now it’s pretty much that way half of the time.
Half-mast inflation has been going on for a long time.
I’m OK with honoring anyone who serves the country in that position. It isn’t easy.
Unless they are convicted criminals.

I fly the Flag of the United States of America, 24/7, lit up in all her glory.
This is Fort Home...I am the Commander-in-Chief of Fort Home.
I decide if I want to fly half-staff and for whom.
I did not put it at half-staff for Mrs. Bush, nor will I.
I have no intention of disrespecting Mrs. Bush...on the contrary, I have great respect for her.
But she has not earned the honor of a half-staff display of the Flag of the United States of America that is flown over Fort Home.
I will light a candle or something for her, but MY flag goes to half-staff for heroes...such as recently deceased MOH awardees, disabled veterans, you know...the ones that REALLY served this country, in a time of need and with much sacrifice.
There is a difference...and I know the difference.
And my flag, my 40 foot pole and the entirety of Fort Home will be burned to the ground before ANY honor of half-staff is given to a damned Clinton...or anyone else I so decide is not worthy of such an honor.
Don’t forget. Babs and the whole Bushie clan voted for Hillary except for George P. who still wants a future in politics.
How about we only fly old glory at half staff for bona fide national tragedies?
