When I lived there my wife and I would ride the bus to go to the Mariner games. It only took one trip to realize that the crazy people ride the bus. Rode on the light rail several times and never experienced the same feeling. Nothing compares to Portland public transit though. Last time on the light rail there were two heroin addicts that got on right after they had shot up and sat right across from me. I got lucky and witched them get their nod on...

OMG! I’ve lived in Portland forever but always drive.
One day I saw a guy on a bench in front of Zupans on Burnside who looked like he was having a problem. We went into Starbucks and told some police who happened to be there and they checked him out and then said - oh..he probably just had some heroin - like it was no big deal.
I’ve got some interesting stories about the bus up here...my sister said I should do a blog. Yesterday there was a woman dressed like - well I’m not sure if it was a rooster, Cinderella, or flames. LOL
We were riding back after an M’s game and this guy gets on and he has his nose pierced which looked normal. Then he sat down, took out the normal stud and replaced it with a chicken leg bone. We talked to him and found out he was getting off shift as an RN. To each his own I guess.
