The Legends received plenty of angry tweets from millennials about Monday's Millennial Night and activities like nap time, petition signing and selfies, but the event was not meant to be negative or critical, according to Anne Mapson, the Legends' special projects manager.
"At first (the negative comments were) a little tough to read, but we were looking at the things we were doing and nothing was malicious," Mapson said. "We didn't realize people would take it in a negative way."
During Monday night's game and promotion, the Legends received positive feedback that outweighed the social media backlash, Mapson said.

>>One commenter, Minda Haas Kuhlmann, said of the event: “Lazy stereotypes, going out of your way to alienate fans under 50, butchered attempts at ‘hip lingo.’”
Millennials are not simply “under 50”.
They are only reaching 36 at their oldest.
The second baby boom doesn’t get to claim the baby bust generation (between 2 booms) among their ranks.
Marketing fail.
The event was conceived by millennials.
I think it's hilarious!

Maybe it’s too bad that I don’t live nearby and am not part of the age group: I can imagine a satiric protest in detail.
I’m so pissed I missed this. I would’ve driven to Kentucky to go to it
But accurate. They should have included safe spaces. 8>)
Me too, if only Id known.
If their lives are chaotic, so are everyone’s. Were all in this together. Keep your stick on the ice.
Im sure as crap not a millennial! Im under 50, Gen X.
I run into this from time to time. Trying to understand the problems of ones adversaries can help solve the problems they pose to you and everyone else. Trying to understand their problems is not tantamount to making excuses for them, although it might seem like I am. Excuses usually arent truthful explanations.
