Well, today was the big day for Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, so it seems appropriate to offer a few Royal romances as our Saturday movie date. The most directly relevant movie, Royal Wedding, made in 1947, was set in London against the background of Prince Harry's grandparents' nuptials and starred Fred Astaire and an actress whose dad was an actual guest at the actual real-life wedding - Sarah Churchill, daughter of Winston. But I'll say a few words about that tomorrow night in our Song of the Week department, and today cast our net a little further afield in search of celluloid romances between royals and commoners:
To be honest, when a Prince of the Blood Royal marries in the presence of Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney a half-black American actress who's dated a porn star and divorced her Jewish husband by mailing back the wedding ring and has a violent alcoholic brother who's held a gun to his girlfriend's head and sent his soon-to-be brother-in-law an open letter warning that this will be "the biggest mistake in royal wedding history"... to be honest, it makes even the racier royal romances of yesteryear seem a little tame.

How is Steyn not gay? He is more into old theatre, opera, and movies than any other straight guy. But I love him.
Well, the truth is your dad is who raised you, who was there for you. Sperm donor is not father. (And I don’t know any truth of Harry’s genes, just saying, Prince Charles is his father.)

Oh! Gee! I’m really going to worry about that. I do think I know myself better than a blank face and what must be a blank brain on a computer monitor.
I don’t care how much they mix and match - I do dislike the arrogance that comes because of the - what word would you prefer - mixing and matching. We had 8 years of it and those 8 years were perilous to our country because of that. The arrogance came with it and tell me it hasn’t spread like a disease across our own country (USA) and others. This country has never seen such outright hatred toward white people as it has since 2009. I wasn’t alone in being removed from it UNTIL that hatred was instigated and encouraged by the person sitting in the office of the president.
You apparently approve that the gushing over the girl Harry was marrying had more to do with her race than what type of person she is, I guess. I wonder how many times the words of MLK, Jr. came to mind during the festivities.
My use of the word “creature” is pretty tame compared to some I’ve seen right here on FR to describe the bride so save your indignation. AND also pretty tame compared to what the bride has called OUR PRESIDENT!

Markle has already been granted “leave to remain” in the U.K. as the partner of a British citizen, said a Kensington Palace spokesperson.
The palace said that Markle “went through the normal processes” herself to get her visa.
A ‘”leave to remain” visa means that Markle can stay in the U.K. subject to certain conditions (such as being granted working and welfare rights). The palace did not specify whether any conditions were attached to Markle’s visa.
Garrett thinks Markle may be on a fiancée visa, which requires the holder to marry within six months. That would “also explain the quick turnaround” of the wedding, she said. The pair announced their engagement in November. Reports that they were dating surfaced in October 2016.

At various times Hewitt has claimed that he was. At other times he has denied it.
I do agree with Yaelle though. The person who raised you is your father.
But one would think that a prince who isn’t sure of his parentage would be more cautious about slagging our president.
It’s not unresolved. Prince Charles is Harry’s father.
Hewitt didn’t start an affair with Diana until 1986. Harry was born in 1984.
As Hewitt himself said: “When I met Diana, he was already a toddler.”
Harry looks very much like a young Prince Philip in certain photographs. The Spencers have the ‘red hair’gene, of course.
#1) I believe Obama’s arrogance has nothing to do with having a black parent & a white parent.
#2) I think some gushed over Megan’s mixed race & some hate her because of it. I hope they’re happy like I hope for other married couples.

#4) I DO agree that Obama set race relations back & seemed to release a lot of hatred towards whites. He opened his mouth when he should have have shut it and kept it closed when he should have spoken. I do not believe it had to do with his mixed race. We’ll never know.
So what is Megan’s last name now? What is Harry’s last name for that matter?

Mountbattan-Windsor, but I think if the person is an official ‘His/Her Royal Highness’, no last name is necessary.
Steyn has joked in the past about being hit on by a gay rocker (who was not out at the time) because a guy who likes show tunes just HAS to be gay. Too funny!
I know he is straight. He is at one side of the straight male sexuality curve though.
Let’s put it this way. Some really strong masculine hetero guys love show tunes, but it’s only 5% of the strong masculine hetero guys. I don’t care. He can crochet and ballet dance and I still love him.
