"I can’t get hired because of my throat tattoo"
The New York Post ^ | Alex Green

Posted on 05/21/2018 1:25:08 PM PDT by Simon Green

A job hunter claims he has been unfairly discriminated against after he was rejected by dozens of employers over his enormous neck tattoo.

Joe Parsons, 21, got the $330 six-inch throbbing red heart with turquoise angel wings in memory of his late grandfather while he worked in a factory.

But he claims that, while he has no problem getting around 30 interviews, he has never managed to get a job thanks to his huge inking.

He has tried attending interviews wearing high-necked shirts but the tips of the wings still peek out above the collar line.

Parsons, from Manchester, England, insists he doesn’t regret getting the extreme body art but wishes potential bosses could see past it.

He said: “Before I got the tattoo people thought I was a happy, confident person. Now it feels like people think I’m full of my self and that I don’t give a damn.”

“That’s just not who I am. I’m just a normal person and all I want is a decent job.”

“There’s definitely a stigma attached which there shouldn’t be. I do think it’s a form of discrimination.”

“It’s not down to the skills I have and in every interview they haven’t given me a good reason. Now I feel like I’ve got ‘don’t hire me’ written all over my neck.”

Very astute observation. To me, that filthy shirt shouts, “Body Odor!” It’s too late, I know, but I think it would have been much wiser to skip the tatt and take a bath in honor of Gramps. JMHO.

Four to Six years will solve his problems

Nope.

TATTOOS:

Visible band tattoos cannot be longer than two inches wide. There can be no more than one visible band tattoo. Sleeve tattoos on arms or legs are not allowed."

I can be buried in a Jewish cemetery. Even if I’m a Lutheran. I suppose I’m lucky. Back when I was stupid enough to possibly consider a tat, they were unfashionable...

Yup. He's got it.

Cause you do.

It’s not so much the tattoo as the inherent stupidity that such a tattoo evidences.

Translation is you were stoned or drunk when you got tattooed on body parts that cannot be covered up by a shirt or skirt or trousers. Therefore who needs you with such bad judgment.

Discrimination is a good thing. Sane people discriminate all the time. It’s why you don’t marry the first skank that let’s you into her pants.

I don't think the US Army would take him with the high neck tattoo.

"...unfairly discriminated against..."

Welcome to Realville, bub. Life isn't "fair", and yes, people really do discriminate, as is their right.

I suggest you look for work down by the docks, and save up for tattoo removal.
