A Spanish public servant who skipped work for a decade without anyone noticing spent his free time running a male brothel and drawing erotic comics.
Carles Recio, who was paid a €50,000 ($58,000) salary as an archives director in Valencia’s provincial government, would show up to the office every morning at 7:30 a.m. to clock in using the fingerprint scanner before heading home, only returning to the office at 3:30 p.m. to clock out.
He kept up the routine for 10 years before colleagues began to raise suspicions. After Spanish newspaper El Mundo broke the story 18 months ago, Recio was finally fired, despite his insistence that he had done nothing wrong.
It also emerged Recio had been running a male brothel out of his home since 2005. At one point he threatened to reveal the identities of his clients, warning there may have been cameras inside and the “graphic information” could compromise many politicians.

At my next to last employer, General Dynamics, our RFID badges tracked the amount of time in the plant and where in the plant. I was asked by my boss why I went to the bathroom so frequently. I told him, “benign prostate hyperplasia. Do you need a doctor’s note?” “Uhm...no...thanks.”
From that point forward, I left my badge at my desk and used a bathroom all the way across the plant so I wouldn’t need my badge to get through a door.
I am so glad I don’t have to work in today’s insane SJW companies.

At the moment, Spain is the new leftist paradise, with the radical Sanchez government, but civil servants (ha-ha) have been a problem practically since the time of the Romans. Actually, it’s probably the fault of the bureaucratic Romans. Spain has always been a bureaucracy, which sometimes works to its advantage, but most often, not.
This has been made worse, of course, by the rancid left that is always just under the surface and recently emerged to take over the government (as usual, by manipulating the dysfunctional parliamentary system).

Around here we call it “Doing a Caroline” named after a 40 yo woman went through the scanners at WalMart 13 times without paying, just scanning an item or two and walking out with all the rest. When Thebigmart finally became alert it was Caroline’s 14th effort and the gendarms finally chased her down and confronted her. She claims she was misidentified and it was not intentional. Hey, 14 times it was an accident? At age 39 or 40? We have had many laughs over this and feel badly for all the people who would like to do this and get away with it...the kids are especially interested if she will cop a plea and run free or do time!! They think they can do better than she did. Lordy, I hope not!!

I used to work for a water department. Not only did you get the 13 paid holidays everyone gets, you also get 1 sick and 1 annual day a month, plus 2 floating holidays and your birthday.
Total 43 paid days off a year.
As a manager I could come in, dispatch my employees, then leave and get paid for the entire day. I could also cash in my time if I was going to go over my caps. However, my conservative mindset was not approved of.
