Americas Team may still be Americas Team, but Americas Team isnt drawing the same kind of eyeballs in their home market.
Via Barry Horn, formerly of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys generated a Week One rating of 28.2 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for their road game at Carolina. Thats the lowest number since the Cowboys produced a 25.2 in 2009.

My work place would charter the bus and buy tickets in blocks.
Still, even the in the early 90’s that’s $500 for a family of 5 without factoring in food.
LOL!
Virtually NOTHING happens over night.
Pregnancy perhaps.
It could be a rather simple explanation: They just simply love the NFL so much they don’t want to see it die and this clouds their judgment. And so, they make alternative excuses.
Those aren’t statistics
NFL Attendance
2014 - 17,606,643
2015 - 17,509,479
2016 - 17,788,671
2017 - 17,253,425
Please point to the “precipitous” decline.

Many of these fans are lost for good.

Very true. People will find other enjoyable and enriching things to do. There are lots of weekend activities that are are a much better use of time than wasting a day sitting on the couch in front of the TV being insulted by a bunch of disrespectful ingrates.
Interesting article - I had to actually look up what city the Rams and Chargers were currently associated with. Those teams have moved around so much - no surprise they don’t have much of a fan base.
Its not a wise thing to insult your customers. That is just a basic business precept that the NFL seems to think it is immune to.
I think it also irritates the average Joe to see these overpaid players acting like spoiled children. There’s a lot of resentment by people who work hard, have modest incomes, appreciate what this country means, and have to tow the line where they work or be out of a job.
I think many people are deeply are offended by the NFL’s disrespectful shenanigans and the weekly exhibition of arrogance by players who have it so good. That dichotomy seems to be lost on the NFL.
That said, at least you may soon be the beneficiary of lower ticket prices. But don’t look for the concession prices to drop any time soon. ;)
Haha. Great video!
Thanks for sharing.
It’s a little bit of everything, a perfect storm. Think back a few years ago.....BLM was making getting to and from events something not to look forward to. Unrestricted rampages in Baltimore and Ferguson had people wondering about planning to be in potentially chaotic situations. Justified football concussion fears. Pink ribbons and other PC stunts. Publicity and random enforcement against players for drugs, wife beating, DUI, other criminal behavior. Rules changes (I HATE the starting at 25 yards!) And now players being allowed to offend a large percentage of their fans with kneeling for the National Anthem, this year backing down on their own reasonable rule. The straw that broke the camel’s back?)
The Cowboys are but a shadow of their former quality. They currently suck. I used to enjoy watching them play, but the current coaching is just awful.
The NFL can die for all I care. They had the opportunity to nip this problem early on when it started in 2016, but bought into that SJW crap and it spread beyond control.
it is the protestors, period.
i know - i am one of those protesting the nfl children.

That is certainly true. They could have told their players that the game is for the fans. Its a couple of hours of entertainment and escapism for a lot of hard working people and those people effectively pay the NFL. That simple concept was not appreciated by the NFL which thought its “product” was unassailable. As on the field, it was a bad call that cost them the game.
There is life beyond football. Try it. To top it off you also stop supporting anti-American losers . ..both players and owners.
Today’s NFL is like watching a never ending soap opera. A bunch of highly paid hoodlums and other misfits of society running off their mouths about issues on and off the field that have nothing to do with the sport. If I want editorial commentary I can go to “Meet the Depressed”. It’s a circus and the clowns have taken charge.
The reality is fans, like me, are turning away from professional (paid) football to other sources of entertainment, like college football, local soccer leagues, semi-pro baseball, etc. where profit is not the only motive.
In Texas we have our “Friday Night Heroes” if we need a weekly fix. Tickets are cheap, parking is free, and you can bring your own cooler full of concessions. Kick back and enjoy the game. Let the kids run loose. Local law enforcement personnel are on duty in case things get out of hand. What’s not to like.
So the TV ratings are down. Just wait for the paid attendance and endorsement figures. Jerry Jones and his sidekick, Howdy Doody, may wake up and find themselves selling used cars someday.
Look at TV viewership.
Howdy Doody! LOL!
The left ruins @@@ everything. Damn them all.
