It's tapped: Beer flows as Oktoberfest opens in Munich

The first keg has been tapped and the beer is flowing as the 185th Oktoberfest gets underway in Munich. Mayor Dieter Reiter inserted the tap in the first keg on Saturday with two blows of a hammer and the cry of "O'zapft is" - "it's tapped." As tradition demands, he handed the first mug to Bavarian governor Markus Soeder, who declared that "the Oktoberfest is perhaps Bavaria's biggest and best calling card in the world." Around 6 million visitors are expected at the festival grounds in Munich before the Oktoberfest ends on Oct. 7. As in previous years, backpacks and large bags are banned for security reasons.

We just came from Munich!!!! What a zoo. The normal city population is 1.6 million, it swells to 6 million during Oktoberfest.

I must say, this is something I had a hard time enjoying because German food literally makes me sick to my stomach—pork knuckles, sausages, schnitzel, saurkraut, pork pork and more pork, beer, etc. Blehhhh

Shanover, we were shocked by the immigration/refugee situation in Munich!

At least half the people on the streets were Muslim country refugees. Trash was everywhere—shocking to me, I had always been told about German pride and how spotlessly clean the streets, sidewalks, train stations were. Not anymore! Munich is starting to look like a third world sh*thole.

I was also disturbed by how many Muslim women were wearing the full black burquas with everything covered except for their eyes.

Pray for Germany. I fear they are a doomed country.
