Jerome Lester Horwitz (October 22, 1903 January 18, 1952), known professionally as Curly Howard, was an American vaudevillian actor and comedian. He was best known as a member of the American farce comedy team the Three Stooges, which also featured his elder brothers Moe and Shemp Howard and actor Larry Fine. Curly Howard was generally considered the most popular and recognizable of the Stooges.
He was well known for his high-pitched voice and vocal expressions ("nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!", "woob-woob-woob!", "soitenly!" [certainly], and barking like a dog), as well as his physical comedy (e.g., falling on the ground and pivoting on his shoulder as he "walked" in circular motion), improvisations, and athleticism.
I was always amazed at how little the Stooges earned for some of the best comedy out of Hollywood.
They got a flat $75 per week each and no royalties.
Why did Curly hate cheese?
Recently saw an episode where an envelope was addressed to Curly. His middle initial - Q. I never knew.
Photoshop Hillary’s head on Curly and say that’s her when she found out she lost the election.
And when asked by Moe whether the Q. stood for Quincy or Quillip, he replies "Quff".
Because his Father was a rat.
Larry: Cut my head off!
Curly: Not me! I’d rather be burned at the stake!
Larry: Why?
Curly: A hot steak is better than a cold chop!

Moe: Take this hammer, I’ll hold the stake. When I nod my head, you hit it!
I think that salary was when they were still working for ted healy (who was getting paid 5 thousand a week). When they started filming their shorts at columbia (without healy), they were paid a thousand a week (which they had to split 3 ways). Over time that would be increased to 7500 a week.
Back when Hollywood comedy was family friendly and funny.
Thats a shame. I like shemp.
Maybe try to show him brideless groom (with shemp)
When my daughter was a baby, her first real laugh — out loud — was while watching the Three Stooges.
Curly was,IMO,a comic genius...certainly on par with the likes of Stan Laurel.
But sadly, after he started having his strokes he just became sad...but we still have those earlier performances.
I didn’t realize the Floss was invented by Curly until I saw that clip.
The original breakdancer.
Moe: “Remind me to kill you later.”
Curly: “I’ll make a note of it.”
I will show you the Stooges.
