Matt Lauer just won’t go away. Following reports that the disgraced Today host is planning on making a comeback to television, insiders now claim he is working on a tell-all memoir about his scandal.
Sources say that Lauer’s new book will explore his behind-the-scenes fights with Megyn Kelly and Ann Curry. The memoir will also talk about his marriage to Annette Roque and document his exit from Today.
“He’s going to give a blow-by-blow of his dramatic dismissal and reveal what really happened behind closed doors at NBC when he was there for two decades,” an insider dished.
According to Closer Weekly, the insider revealed that Lauer plans on asking for forgiveness in the book. The former host will take full responsibility for what happened, even if he does not think NBC should have fired him.
Although Lauer has high hopes for the book, it will take a lot for people to forgive him.
NBC fired Lauer after several women came forward and accused him of sexual assault and harassment. This includes the time when Lauer allegedly locked an employee in his office and assaulted her.
Lauer has denied the allegations and will continue to do so in the book.
He is also looking to make around $20 million for publishing the memoir, though fans will likely read about the best parts online.
While the bulk of the book will be about the scandal, Lauer is also targeting Megyn Kelly. The insider claims that Lauer has dirt on Kelly and hopes it will destroy her career.

Their ego’s won’t allow them to just go away and go fishing or build birdhouses. They are not relevant anymore and can’t stand it.
I’d be curious to see what was in his contract with NBC and what he was able to afford with the money he was making: on call driver, someone to pick up his dry cleaning, house cleaner, personal shopper to stock his fridge, etc etc. Basically all he had to do was wake up in the morning, walk into a dressing and make up room and make crazy money being a moron.
Now, he has to drive himself everywhere, pick up his own dry cleaning, maybe cook his own dinner once in a while and be at least a little like a normal person. Now he’s just a guy in line at the grocery store. All 5 foot nothing of him. Wonder what he does when he’s on line at a grocery store and 2 big, iron workers, with Old Glory stickers on their hard hats, are in front of him, Two Deplorables?

I would be surprised if a comeback is envisioned by Lauer. This book seems a poor attempt to make that happen. Rather, I think he’s a rich guy who knows his career is over and now he’s just focused on getting back at people in the industry. I think this is pure revenge. Which is fine with me.
Indeed. If he takes down some others of his ilk it’s popcorn time as we say here at FR.

All on-air news presenters are fake even before they start reading the fake items on the TeLePromter before them. The only thing that’s required is for them to read the lines assigned to them and look plausible.
It's also very probable Laurer shared details of his conquests with the "guys." These priapic types love to brag about their conquests.
The NBC guys musta got vicarious thrills....and a few laughs....at the expense of the girls Matt had locked-in his office.
Knowing the tricks of the TV trade...could have even been cameras set-off once Matt pressed the buzzer.
Maybe even videos were made of Matt's sexploits.....passed around executive suites for their enjoyment.
Has-been narcissist presumes anybody gives a crap about this.
If he has a story about rear-ending Anderson Cooper in the Green Room, maybe I’ll read the excerpt.
The scary thing is the claim that he is expecting $20 million for publishing this piffle.
Our “culture” is really beyond catastrophe.
