“It’s not for you to know or question, just listen and obey the leaders”. Sound familiar?”

All too familiar, unfortunately. I had a tough time as a chid understanding why adults around me so often seemed to practice something which bore only the slightest resemblance to what they preached.

Those who donate the big bucks to such “Christian” enterprises get what they pay for - a rich “pastor” who loves the benefits of being rich...

This guy is an entertainer, no different than Taylor Swift. I'm sure she's bought nice cars too.

I’ve seen his wife.

I’d have gotten her a used Schwinn from the pawn shop.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

There's a difference between exercising good judgment and being judgmental. I tell folks who don't get that I hope they never sit on a jury.

That does not look like a man who is well accustomed to saying “no” to his worldly desires.

............................
Would you call it judgemental or using good judgement to condemn a Man based on a headline only as I’m sure most here did? You? I read a little bit about the man including the fact that he sat right next to Donald Trump and prayed with him in the White House. And it’s obvious that his tremendous love for his wife was his primary motive in spending what seems like an exorbitant amount of money on a car. Maybe that love overruled common sense and maybe he’s learned a valuable lesson that will serve him and his followers well in the future. In any case, it’s one more time I’m glad I used my good judgment before being judgmental just based on a headline.

I have the rare gift of being completely indifferent to excess money, in my life or others. I’m not impressed. If I were to come into a multi-million windfall, I’d probably give half of it away to charity and still drive the same $15,000 car I bought 9 years ago. I just don’t relate to those who have to wear it on their sleeve.

"Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged."

John 7.24 "..judge with righteous judgment.”

Dad was a pastor for 50 years. The clap-trap cars we could afford ... pitiful.

I wonder if Jesus complains to God?

“Hey Daddy - I know it seemed like the perfect time for me to be born on earth - with the Romans at the crossroads of civilization and all. But just think how many more people I could have reached if you had waited until the automobile had been invented - and not having to WALK everywhere! And lets not even talk about airplanes! My feet are STILL sore.”

(Me? I’m glad Jesus came when He did. I’m hoping that he will come again soon!)

“I bought my wife a bike. Now she peddles it all over town!”

Quoting a dear departed uncle of mine, who I’m sure stole that from some comedian.

Back during that billion dollar lottery ticket I was reading the various good and bad stories. (Yes - I bought $20 worth!)

Really sad some of the horror stories. One had the divorced husband killing himself. His wife died alone in her mansion, along with 12 starved cats. She was finally found something like a year later - nobody noticed.

The best stories were along the lines of “Herb and Alice took home $30 million. They bought new cars and got new carpet and a roof for their 1,400 sq. foot rambler. After taking care of their children and grandchildren with suitable accounts for housing and education, they donated $25 million for a new hospital wing, where Alice has volunteered for the last 18 years.”

My old man never liked the idea of having the preacher’s salary discussed and printed.

“Half the folks are going to think he’s paid too much, and the other half are going to think he’s paid too little.”

My son is a youth minister. Yeah - they aren’t in it for the money!

There’s a televangelist Mike Murdoch I’ve seen on weekends who doesn’t mess around. He’s asking for your $1,000 seed so God and grant you prosperity........LOL!

No kidding. Dad was a preacher for 50 years. Our family always was in the poverty level.
