A controversial academic today risked to wrath of Britain's veterans and their families after calling the RAF airmen who bombed Nazi Germany war criminals.

Dr Kehinde Andrews, a professor of black studies at Birmingham City University, said the decision to build tributes like the Bomber Command Memorial desecrated with white paint yesterday was like 'justifying terrorism'.

He said: ‘We are talking about a war crime. I think it is a tragedy they died, but we don’t need a statue.’

His extraordinary statements came on ITV's Good Morning Britain today where host Piers Morgan asked him: 'Why do you see everything that we are proud of as sticks to beat our country with? Sometimes you have to stand up and fight'.

Rotterdam also comes to mind.

Interesting note. The Dutch had capitulated on the afternoon of the bombing raid that destroyed Rotterdam...but the 90 German bombers did not get the recall radio signal and the city was destroyed.

Oh believe me, in the 1930s there were plenty of Brits that adored Hitler.

Sounds like the clymer was calling all British WWII bombing as a war crime. ............................... I think their major crime was using others to fight their wars. (i.e.)India lost more soldiers than Britain in WW II. Imagine what it would have been like if the non European Powers were not involved. Europe/UK today would be speaking German or Russian. The Royals would be living in Canada with Trudeau. Carpet Bombing cities and creating fire storms did little damage to the industry. Sure it killed the workers, along with their families, but production continued. The real damage was to the oil facilities and synthetic fuel production. The area bombing was a tit for tat operation, where one side did more damage because they were able to carry a heavier load of bombs, and it was safer to do it at night. At night the target was difficult to pin point, hence the larger spread of bombs needed. Just be grateful we didn’t experience it here. I’m sure we will eventually. Those poor bastards that flew those bombers over Germany were just guys obeying orders, they were no different than our guys. If they bombed cities while the civilians were sleeping, I am sure they had to live with it on their conscious. As for being in the Air Corp, they deserve a monument. Its easy for us to point fingers, because we were never in the position of having to point them up.

To be fair there were times certain allies did go overboard (e.x. the rape of Berlin mostly by the Soviets, massacres of German civilians in Czechoslovakia).

You know the sad thing is, if people like him were in charge back then we would probably lost, and the funny thing because of his skin color if the axis powers would have won the war he would be exterminated because of who he is.

India casualties were 87K and UK 383K. So now you know.

Read about that. Thing was: what did the Dutch do to deserve being invaded by Germany other than Hitler wanting to have his war of conquest?

Yep that’s war for you but I would like see a surviving member of the black Tuskegee airmen fighter squadrons or the old 761st tank battalion confront this idiot.

The father of a friend of mine was POW from the battle of the bulge and was in the most notorious POW camp in Germany. The Russians liberated the camp and when some of them discovered they were going the wrong way they bailed out. They came home and about 3500 POWs disappeared in Russia and never made it home.

Isn’t it amazing how elitist educational parasites, condemn freedoms warriors who saved their right to free speech. To bad their ancestors weren’t in the planes or trenches.

Not moving or putting up a sufficient fence/wall when the crazy next door neighbor proves himself to be a complete psychopathic ahole?

Very appropriate.. Every hour on the hour a new one pops up.

I thought most of the bombings were over military factories, like ball bearing plants and steel plants used to make tanks and planes.

When I took a trip to Austria, we visited a plan assembly plant that was dug deep into a cave. They would haul the fuselages out through a tunnel and then attach the wings on the outside. This was to avoid allied bombing of the airplane factories.

“”The country is already lost, we just haven’t turned off the lights yet.””

For me, it’s becoming more apparent each day with every special interest group protest, just who plans on running for president, a slew of new books out that are telling us what went wrong etc. We knew it already but it’s being reinforced in so many different areas that it’s too huge to ignore. I dislike skepticism and cynicism but that’s what they’ve done to us. People have to ask themselves WHY at this time are there so many books dissecting what’s happened to us since 2008...certainly not by accident; all cleverly planned and most of us unaware. People are waking up - finding a voice for all of us. Read “The Paradigm.”

what did the Dutch do to deserve being invaded by Germany .......................... Being there, they had ports, probable logistical lines for the invading British. Norway was similar, it was seen as a English air field if they left it alone. It also protected the iron ore route that Germany needed. Denmark? Well the Vikings were no longer in the berserk mood. They had their sardines, pastries, pork and cheese and were not prepared to fight off armored divisions. They had a long coast line that the Brits were sure to make use of. They were on the strategic chess board, wrong place at the wrong time.
