A place to consolidate CoronaVirus Stories
Not totally sure about the makeup sales dropping.
Anyone who has to videoconference will probably wear makeup if they normally do so at the office.
Some of us would rather NOT scare the coworkers :)
Sales of nice shoes and pants/skirts may drop though, as those aren’t seen on videoconference stuff normally :)
Economic Impact is going to be huge world wide. The companies putting all there eggs in China. The supply chain is broken.
Obviously from Boston to Miami, there are tons of homeless.
I was thinking more of the interior of the country.
I live about 90 miles from Boston. Each house is on 1/4 to 1/2 an acre. We go the entire winter without seeing neighbors in person. The ONLY place we are going to get it (working from home) is at the grocery store. And even there the lines have lots of space.
Move further inside the US, to some place like Ohio or Iowa and the distances increase. And people’s personal space increases.
Yeah, in the cities...they might have a tougher time.
My wife is going to work from home. No video. All teleconference.
She is a write, so all she does in interview and email stuff around.

Excellent graphic. So long story short, the Wuhan disease is about 20 X more deadly than the flu for those under 60.

My understand of the importance of this analysis is not just to show where the strains originated from, but scientists can estimate the level of spread as well (such as how many cases they can expect)
Lots of people who’ve never heard the term ‘force majeure’ will become familiar with that.
