Consider La Femme Nikita, too. It’s the forerunner of 24. Chloe = Birkoff. And Peta Wilson is stunning.

Try to find “Jericho”, if you can. One of the best series after “24”, but only went 1 1/2 seasons. I have it on DVD.

That first season of 24 was amazing!

Another one that is really good, there’s a recent thread on it here, is “The Americans” about deep cover soviet spys in the US in the 1980s.

It’s arguably one of the greatest TV shows of all time. It keeps you sympathetic to ALL the characters, but totally reveals the depravity of Communism.

Kerri Russell’s role of a lifetime, and everyone is excellent. Also especially the Russians (diplomatic type folks) who speak in Russian, so you have to remember to read the subtitles and don’t keep playing Candy Crush, or whatever!

I loved 24!

We are currently looking for series that my father in law can watch, it has to be a slow, easy to follow story, not a lot of action and clean! We just finished heartland, which was perfect for him, a little too much drama, but he liked the old guy in it. Anything similar Y’all can recommend?

I never missed an episode of “ Miami Vice” when it was new. Loved Don Johnson. I had my picture taken with his stunt guy. I would show the picture to people and let them believe it was Don then tell them the truth.

Loved “24”. All that torture wouldn’t be politically correct these days.

To: Allen In Texas Hill Country; All

Neither of us had seen anything other than a random episode of ‘24’ so a few winters ago, I rented and/or found the series at St. Vincent’s (thrift shop) and we were 100% hooked. We binge-watched all 8? years over the winter.

The only character I really didn’t like was ‘Tony.’ First, the actor who plays him is such a wooden, awful actor. Can you DO anything other than frown? LOL! And they kept bringing him back. Yeesh! Do us all a favor and just stay dead! (Sorry if that’s a spoiler; it’s not much of a spoiler; you never truly get rid of Tony, so any time he ‘dies’ don’t worry. He’ll be back.)

Really disliked Chloe at first, but she grew on me. Loved the initial wife and the daughter. My favorite President (and there are many!) was Dennis Haysbert and his deliciously EVIL wife, Sherry as First Lady. Cherry Jones was a good ‘first female’ President, also with a slimy spouse. Jean Smart was great as a First Lady. John Voight is in the series, too.

I remember years ago when Rush Limbaugh was constantly pimping the show. I’m really glad we finally watched it.

I’ll add ‘Justified’ as a series you need to watch. So, SO good, from beginning to end. Our cats are named ‘Boyd’ and ‘Eva.’ ;) A little violent, so count on a few people ending up dead in each episode, BUT - those killings were ‘Justified.’ ;) Great music soundtrack, too.

Also, ‘Longmire’ was a superb series, and you’d probably like all of the Tom Selleck ‘Jesse Stone’ movies.

Don't watch television at all. Each program I watch puts money in the Liberals pocket that they can use against me. You? Keep up the good work. The Liberals and Holly Wood Elites and haters of America appreciate the work you do for them.

The 24 threads on FR were the best. If you can find the threads that correspond to the episodes you’re watching, you would love it!

One thing I’ve never figured out is the speed which the government can fire and rehire employees in Jack Bauer’s unit. Have you ever tried to fire a civil servant? It won’t happen in 24 hours or even 2400. But three or four could be fired in a feat of pique in one episode during a worldwide crisis.

“I’m in the middle of Miami Vice.”

The old, original Miami Vice? (Did they ever do a re-make? I don’t recall.)

Since your title of the vanity didn't explain much, I clicked.

I didn't watch Miami Vice the first time around, never watched 24 either and didn't ever watch the other hokey show you mentioned, Knight Rider, so why should I break my perfect record?   Nothing to see here, I pass.
