Your whole statement of this is based on some business owners making stupid decisions based on avoiding taxes. That is not the norm. By the way, we are not talking about a 90% tax rate here. Big difference from 28%.
And I can tell you from experience that most business owners are concerned about profit from being a member of many, many business organizations that discuss these issues constantly.
If a business owner does not understand that they should only invest in assets and/or people that add value to their business they will not be in business long.
I understand the situation very well and I do not base my assumptions on poor decisions by a small percentage of business owners.

Yes, some people will make stupid decisions. But that is not the norm. Especially with people who are invested in a business and depend on the business being profitable to feed their families.

family as begrudging staff. they are polite they just don’t do the

You’ll have to pardon my ignorance in this area, but are these the same businesses that supposedly power the economy as entrapenuers as they didn’t have the working capital to be taxed as much as they were before they got nailed with the new taxes due to the size of their initial attempt?
Risk can be destructive also. And with the weaken economy we currently have with nothing but paper to supply the power to it, isn’t that an open invitation to destroy the market while the fictitious DOW and NASDAC numbers are highly overinflated? Clinton mislead the people with the DOW and fanny and freddie to inflate the economy on paper and actually did more harm than good. It was the economy, stupid. Or at that time, just stupid.

I admit, I’ve know some business owners that do not make decisions or manage people well. And, as you state, they won’t be in business long.
When faced with rising taxes, MOST businesses will NOT increase their spending as has been postulated.
