There were two cocks and two dicks.
Play stupid games…..
Die.

More info will come out. I’m not seeing where things got past the level of heated talk until the shooter went back into the house and came back out with a firearm. I could see the wisdom in the father getting back in his car and calmly calling the police for a civil standby to sort the visitation order issue. I could see the wisdom in the other guy getting back in the house, locking the door, and waiting for the police—unless the father attempted forcible entry.
He wasn’t in the house. This differs from the Rittenhouse shooting because the home owner backed off to put distance between him and the assailant. The victim was not physically threatening the home owner when he went and got a gun. The video doesn’t show what the victim was doing when he was shot. Was he advancing on the guy with the gun? Was he just standing there?
P.S. The gun looks like a Hi Point 9mm carbine.
The guy should have calmly and rationally explained the situation. That is a tough one though, he killed the guy when he should have just punched him. Size means very little in this situation, the short guy has full access to the big guys testicles, sternum, throat, liver and kidneys. He could have dropped him in seconds without killing him...... Short guy here, and big guys only have a seeming advantage or when there are Marquis of Queensbury rules. I am surprised he is not under a charge of discharging a weapon in public. He wasted one round into the ground.
Chad not in video at time of shooting.
After being shot no one seems to care about Chag.
Just watched the second video. Looks like the victim was NOT advancing on the homeowner when he was shot.
An old rule applies here:
Sometimes an a-hole encounters a bigger a-hole.
Don’t really see how he can be charged in this instance. Losers all around here.
All that is true, and it's also true that Carruth should drop the ex-wife like a hot rock.
She was willing to screw around on her little phone till after it got violent, instead of trying to defuse the situation.
It could have gone south, the other way.
Nothing but trouble, there - I don't care how easy she makes it to get into her pants.
What a mess. Going to fetch a gun and further escalating the conflict is not going to sit well with prosecutors. The shootee showed once again that grabbing at a gun is a sure fire way to earn yourself a Darwin award.
The outcome will depend on the jurisdiction.
More than one way to process this.
Brandishing that gun was stupid as shit. But being Texas it will probably be deemed okay.
Trying to take the gun away. That was STUPIDER than Joe & Kamala combined.
RIP to the dead guy.
Why isn’t property worth a human life? Say someone steals $1,000 out of my pocket. I cannot replace that, it represents 40 hours of my life that I can never get back. They stole my life force and the fuel, the time away from wife and kids to earn that. I can make more money, by trading my precious life force for it, but the money stolen is gone forever. Now if they steal my $55,000 truck that I paid for with over a years worth of time, it is even more likely I would shoot the thief.
Property is time, time is finite. We only have so much of it, and stealing the life force that I sacrificed for the property should be a death penalty, or compensate me fully. Even if it means the thief becomes my slave until his debt is paid.
Agreed! Despite numerous clear warnings, Read decided to play stupid games on someone else's property, by shoving someone else on their porch and trying to grab someone else's weapon.
Justified self defense. No charges should be brought. Case closed
Tell that to Rittenhouse. Truth is, you never know how these "prosecutors" will react. The fact that he was unarmed, and I did not see the man move towards the armed man, it becomes very dicey to say the least.
That’s insanity
Coward..
While most people are focused on the shooting, I have to wonder how it got to this point.
Was the ex keeping their son from his father out of revenge? Was she playing "stupid games"?
Now the father is dead. How does the ex go forward in this relationship with the man who killed the father of their son?
How does the son fit into this relationship? Does he just accept "new dad" after "new dad" killed his real dad? What kind of relationship is he going to have with his mother especially when he gets older and puts all the pieces together? This is going to make for awkward daily life to say the least.
Using your children for revenge against an ex is evil. Everyone suffers. If the wife was using their son she is culpable in this tragedy and she's going to have to live with her actions as is the son.
If I were the son I don't know how I could forgive my mother or "new dad" even if "new dad" acted out of self-defense.
Spot on! If this was in Texas, Read knew the meaning of castle doctrine. He failed, biggly.
That’s not me talking. The quotation marks should have been your clue.
I was quoting BLM and why they should be allowed to burn black neighborhoods to the ground in the name of anti-racism.
"...grabbing a gun held by someone else is rarely a good idea."
