2 Honduran migrants charged with misdemeanor after killing an American bald eagle with intention to eat it
A Nebraska sheriff is calling on federal authorities to act after two Honduran migrants allegedly killed an American bald eagle in the state with the intention of eating it.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger told "Fox & Friends First" Monday that he has yet to get an answer from federal officials on their handling of the incident that has the community in an "uproar."
"We find this very alarming, I'm sure nationwide, but locally it's been very alarming to the citizens," Unger said.
The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said in a Feb. 28 news release that deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Wood Duck Recreation Area. When deputies arrived, they discovered two men in possession of a dead American Bald eagle.
Further investigation revealed that the men, both nationals from Honduras, had shot and killed the protected national bird in that area and stated they planned on cooking and eating the bird, according to the release.

I was wondering the same thing... THe picture associated with the story showed a rifle and handgun yet there is no mention of that at all. An illegal with a firearm... THAT is the bigger deal here.
Looking at it again, it looks like a pellet rifle and a CO2 charged pistol. So they are illegal. Killed a bald eagle. Are in possession of weapons(although not firearms). AND THEY ARE RELEASING CO2 gas!!
How many strikes do they get?
Everything that I have found says that illegals are prohibited persons and may not legally possess a firearm.
So, we have 2 illegal, military age men, illegally possessing a rifle committing a federal crime, while tresspassing.
From another story, they did not have IDs or driver's licenses, so I doubt if the vehicle had insurance and registration.
Nothing to see, here, but a plastc pistol brace, that was perfectly legal, until 1-31-23 is a national security threat, worthy of a $250,000 fine and 10 years in a PMITA prison.

Still can be deadly, but not illegal, probably.
